Feds Launch Financial Meltdown Web Site
Source: AP

POSTED: 3:33 pm EST January 7, 2009

Features Include Data Graphs, News Releases, SEC Filings

ST. LOUIS -- Everyone knows how stressful the financial meltdown feels. But now the crisis is being explained with a new Web site by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

The Web site offers insights into how the financial crisis unfolded and steps the government has taken to contain it.

The site outlines events in financial markets beginning with February 2007 and describes the government's response. It includes links to news releases, filings by the Securities and Exchange Commission, congressional testimony, related St. Louis Fed articles and Federal Reserve Economic Data graphs.

In the coming months, new features will be added, including frequently asked questions, glossary of terms, an improved timeline, charts, graphs and update alerts.

5. Oh they are a HOOT, aren't they?
Carefully and lovingly looking out for all us proles.

They're just so GOOD, and HEROIC.

:eyes:

If anyone is relying on the Fed to tell them what is going on with the economy, they will be woefully unprepared to handle anything that lies ahead.

4. Is this the same Fed that was telling us everything was "Just Fine"
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 02:11 AM by TheWatcher
With the economy right up until the Month the Crisis could no longer remain hidden?

The same Fed that keeps telling us even now that everything is beginning to turn around?

Sorry, I think I will pass on their little Junior Web Project.

I'll keep getting my information from sources who knew this was coming years ahead of time, thanks.

Probably wonderful fun for the Cathode-Soaked, "Tell me anything so I can feel good, and pretend to be informed" part of the population, though.
