Bush says Democrats would threaten fiscal health (CNN)
Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 03:54 PM by kysrsoze
TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- President Bush courted voters Monday in the state that decided the 2000 election, arguing his tax cuts are helping the economy and suggesting Democrats would endanger America's fiscal health by raising taxes.

Spending the President's Day holiday in Florida, the second day of his 19th visit to the state as president, Bush said the country is recovering from its economic downturn. He blamed the recession, corporate scandals, and the 2001 terrorist attacks for the problem, but said his policies turned the economy around.

"Those were a lot of obstacles and hurdles for our nation to handle and yet our economy is strong. I will argue vociferously that one of the reasons it is strong is because the Congress wisely heeded my call and let people keep more of their own money," Bush told employees gathered in a warehouse of NuAir Manufacturing, a small but thriving window and door manufacturer.

"The tax relief plan you hear some people maligning around our country helped small business growth."

31. Does he mean "more than the Republicnas?"
I think 30 years of past history indicates that Republicans are dangerous to our economy.

6. Further, Bunnypants* also said that appointing honest men to law
enforcement would lead to more crime.

Bunnypants* concluded by say that appointing Nazis to law enforcement would assure Jews and Blacks "fair und balanced" law enforcement.

Orwell was right. His title was just 17 years off...

12. Indeed. He has reached the point of parody with utterances like these.
Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 04:43 PM by benfranklin1776
Not only are these blatherings Orwellian to the extreme, every time he makes an accusation such as this he provides a textbook example of Freudian projection taken to exponential degree. Whatever he accuses the Democratic Party or candidate of doing is precisely what he is doing himself. A classic diversionary ploy, except in the face of record deficits statements like this merely serve to emphasize his isolation and detachment from reality. They will serve to accelerate the plummet rate of his already sinking popularity. His snake oil shtick is wearing woefully thin and people are waking up to his yawning credibility gap. The best thing he can do is continue to keep flapping his jaws this way and it digs the chasm ever deeper.

30. Carol Mosley Braun was on Bill Mayer
the other night and was talking about 1984 and how Orwellian the bush administration is. It was great! I find her impressive-she had a great handle on what was wrong with No Child Left Behind too.

18. Fiscal Incontinence
Whenever replicants want to sound as though they have a f###ing clue about a healthy economy, they start throwing around words like "robust" and "fiscal".

Bush is a fiscal incontinent. THEY ARE ALL FISCALLY INCONTINENT.

Dems shouldn't have to keep changing their diapers. Let's leave them in their own stinking mess; maybe enough sheeple will be offended by the stench eventually.

Gephardt reminded us that Dick Armey said Clinton's first budget would cause a depression, and that no republican in the house voted for it.

24. I'm Impressed
If Bush not only pronounced vociferously, but also maligning.

No seriously, if we keep these tax cuts, what are we going to do next time there is a recession, cut them again? And again? Until there are no more taxes?

Oh, yeah, because we had such a thriving middle class before the introduction of the graduated income tax. And such national wealth...yeah, the good old days!
