2.15.04, 1:24p -
AMMAN, Jordan _ A rare storm dumped more than two feet of snow on parts of the Middle East, breaking power lines in Lebanon, collapsing a wall at a holy site in Israel and delaying talks between Israelis and Palestinians. At least one person was killed.

I thought this was interesting, Last year was bad, this is moreso. Think this is caused by global warming? Should the region expect more?

1. Snowmen lined the streets of Amman.
Excerpt:
Last February, Jordan received between one and three feet of snow in what was described as the kingdom's worst snowstorm since 1950.

Global warming is supposed to cause weather extremes, so who knows? Thanks for posting this.

3. It's going to get a lot worse...
Current research on climate changes strongly suggests that global warming can be a trigger for another ice age, and that this transition is not gradual, but can happen quickly, in the space of a *decade.*

One of the warnings signs of an impending climate shift is increased volatility and extremes of all kinds of weather -- drought, heat, monsoons, floods, storms, hurricanes, etc.

Just a thought to keep in mind as we continue to observe events such rare snow storms in the Middle East, increasing drought in the American North West, record-setting heat waves and flooding in Europe.

the beginning of the next Ice Age. At the center of the story is a paleoclimatologist (a scientist who studies the ways weather patterns changed in the past), Professor Adrian Hall (Quaid), who tries to save the world from the effects of global warming while also trying to get to his son, Sam. <http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/dayaftertomorrow/>
