3. You beat me to that question
I'd like to know how many of the wounded have died. I know during Vietnam a death didn't count as a battle casualty if it happened after the soldier was removed from the field and, it didn't count if it was the result of "friendly fire".

5. I have seen where soldiers who have died stateside from their wounds...
...in Iraq were indeed added to this AP count in the past. Whether or not they count them all I can't say for sure. Hope that helps.

8. No, they're not counting the wounded that die later....
...and I'm guessing that they're also undercounting those that are wounded. For every soldier killed their ought to be about 12 to 15 wounded. Of those that are wounded, about 10% will die of their wounds within 30 days or less.

A ballpark guess as to the real casualty numbers in Iraq? Based on everything that we're reading and hearing about the severity of the wounds, I'd say approximately 750 dead and about 10,000 wounded.

Any guess is good concerning the casualty figures from the "forgotten war" in Afghanistan. I'm thinking maybe 200 dead and another 2800 wounded, but who knows for sure?

Like his mother Bush isn't about to bother his "beautiful mind"
about Americans who have died.

Take a look at the faces of the dead America.

7. Thank you for these posts, NNNOLHI.
They are ugly, brutal and absolutely necessary. Pollyannamerica needs to know how many fine and dedicated young Americans have been sent by bu$h to die for profit.

10. I remember the 1969 Life Magazine article where they included a,...
...picture, name, age, and branch of service of every soldier killed during one week of combat in Vietnam. It was a very powerful piece that caused a lot of questions to be asked among a segment of Americans that usually didn't ask any questions at all.

9. please everytime you call your senators
everytime you contact the news media..demand that the soldiers be given a voice, demand that the caskets and body bags be shown, demand that the funerals be shown, demand that the military families are covered, demand that the wounded are shown at Walter Reed..this is all being hidden away from the public. all of it. These kids are forgotten because the public doesnt care to look for it.
