7. But yet the bible
Is ok. I say let's get rid of the bible. It's too violent for children, and it makes them weak minded.

9. Its funny that they make this an abortion issue...
when in reality, for them, it is their issue with women having the power to decided when and if life begins. It burns their ass that 'women' have such power and that it is not up to their invisible friend...Don't be fooled, this is all about their idea of women being seen and not heard, if they could, these idiots would take us all back to the dark ages.

If anyone deserves to be defrocked, it's assholes like that guy. Of course if those who deserved it were defrocked, good old Benedickhead would've been defrocked ages ago. Sick.

17. Fine if he wants to pulll that shit
then he needs to pull every book about every single person who supports the death penalty or who is against welfare etc etc...because if you're going to be consistent to what the NCCB has to say then you need to be "pro-life" all the way...

18. He apparently only wants to pull them in Janurary but will put them back up
in Feb and March. It looks like he wants to minimize the inauguration. They are being put up so the school can remain creditable as pulling information from a sitting president hurts your social science curriculum.

27. Why?
It's a private school, and it's their library. They can include and exclude whatever they want.

Certainly makes for a more restricted and less useful educational atmosphere for their students, but it's entirely their business.

26. Yeah, they can do what they want. It's dopey
and an affront to the idea of academic inquiry and freedom - but I'm sure he's sucking up to the bishop, who's in love with the publicity that his hard-core anti-Dem positions get him.

30. I'm also an
RC in Brooklyn. LOL.

I agree... it's a private religious school. However, if it were a school that I sent my children to (say St Saviors), I'd have some words with the principal about it.

Plus, they had the book there in the FIRST PLACE, regardless of his abortion position. It sounds like something more for publicity.

32. Still, it shows he's an idiot, who is going to screw up the education of the pupils
And it's a shame when young minds don't get the education everyone deserves. I wouldn't mind private schools being licensed, in the way the other professionals who perform vital services for money are licensed, like lawyers or doctors. And this kind of stunt would go a long way to losing your licence.

34. And I should be outraged about this because....
Obama has failed to speak up against passage of Prop 8, and has remained silent on efforts to repeal Prop 8, or on California's AG Jerry Brown court challenge to those trying to invalidate the marriage of 18,000 gay and lesbian couples.

If Obama won't defend LGBT rights, and I mean fight, not just regale us with his florid words, the LGBT community won't defend Obama.

This priest removed books authored by Obama motivated by bigotry and intolerance. Isn't there a moral equivalency between the priest's bigotry and Rick Warren's?

... apparently, he took the time to read them and put back on the shelves the next day:
