John Rips Intern Reports (today's NY Post)

JOHN RIPS INTERN RUMORS

By DEBORAH ORIN

February 14, 2004 -- Democratic front-runner John Kerry yesterday said allegations of a relationship with a young woman are "untrue" and told his supporters not to worry about anything in his past. "I just deny it categorically. It's rumor. It's untrue. Period," Kerry told reporters traveling with his campaign. <snip>

The Massachusetts senator replied: "There's nothing to report, there's nothing to talk about, I'm not worried about it - no. The answer is no."

<snip>A woman whose name has been linked to Kerry but who is not an intern isn't talking to the press, said a man who answered her cell phone.

The Kerry campaign didn't respond to questions about whether Kerry knows the woman or whether he had invited her to Washington to discuss his campaign with her.

<snip>Kerry yesterday said he's ready for an onslaught of attacks from Republicans as the campaign heats up.

"These guys will want to try to do everything to change the subject," he said.

1. Jaysis, I hope he stops answering this rubbish
...PRONTO. This is the sort of thing that has bogged down every single campaign since Reagan's, spending so much time answering the right wing smear machine that issues get completely lost. Kerry needs to stay on message and just let the shit-flingers sit in their cages and keep flinging turds at the passing public. The public will get tired of the barrage of feces soon enough and tume them all out.

Part of being "presidential" means being able to rise above all this nasty slander from the whore press. He can sue them all after he gets into office, which he will if he STAYS ON THE REAL MESSAGE!

12. You don't get it, do you? If he doesn't answer the smear immediately...
...then the NeoCons will imply that Kerry is hiding something. And they will NEVER let up.

And no...the public will never tire of the "barrage of feces". That's why the crapola "reality tv" shows are doing so well...most of the American public wants to see people struggle with adversity, and/or get ripped to shreds.

IMHO, it is FAR better to answer right away and BE ON THE RECORD with a response. When nothing is found, Kerry will look even better when compared with the banty rooster that currently lives in the White House and can't tell the truth if his life depended on it.

Besides, how much time did Kerry really waste responding to this bunch of crap?

3. Unless I've missed something important, there's less evidence for this...
...than there is for the "Bush and the Stripper" scandal.

At least with the Bush rumor, the stripper alleges that something happened. In this case with Kerry, there doesn't seem to be ANY there there. The woman: denies it. The woman's parents (who obviously don't like Kerry): denies it. Kerry: denies it. Where did the allegation come from? (this is a rhetorical question...).

Yet which gets the coverage?

4. Bush and Stripper Story
A STUNNING PLAYBOY MODEL has unleashed the opening salvo in a vicious smear campaign against George W. Bush -- claiming she had a torrid 18-month affair with the presidential candidate that ended last June.

Political experts say her sordid tale is just the beginning of a dirty tricks campaign that will be aimed at the front-runner during his quest for the White House. And it raises the question of who put her up to trying to destroy Bush's campaign.

"He's going to be vulnerable all the way up to the election," Dr. Larry Sabato, professor of government and foreign affairs at the University of Virginia, told The ENQUIRER.

"Dirty tricks will be a staple of the campaign."

Former Watergate conspirator and radio talk show host G. Gordon Liddy agreed. "You look for a candidate's vulnerabilities -- and Gov. Bush has made statements like, 'I was young and foolish' that give credibility to a story of sexual promiscuity."

8. The part about the men's room sounds too
far out for most. Besides I think AWOL is
basically a coward and would go frigid at
the thought of his mother or wife's anger.

More than the possibility of infidelity I
fear his very real belief that he is somehow
anointed by God and therefore can justify
his killing wars and socially unjust fiscal
policies. This is what will sink old AWOL,
not any titillating tales about red panties.

13. No, Junior is STILL a college frat-boy...he's up for anything that will...
...entertain his self-indulgent lifestyle.

I was a college frat-boy, too, but I stopped being a frat-boy when I left college nearly 30 years ago. Junior is still living in the past and dreams of toga parties, panty raids, and nightly alcohol binges, not necessarily in that order.

6. How about this one of Bush and a dark haired girl?
I'm going to post this picture until my fingers bleed from cutting and pasting online!

So, rumors about Kerry and an affair in the highly-credible Washington Post, on Matt Drudge and the Sun Times (all owned by Rupert Murdoch -yea, probably Drudge too).

**By the way, what kind of parents even talk to reporters about their daughter and a politician after Monica Lewinsky and Chandra Levy?**

Well, I wanna know who this girl is Bush is playing kissy face with? Do her parents know?

Dems can play this idiotic game too...

9. Chiming in
For what it's worth, what the eff is it with right-wingers and other people's sex lives? They seem to have a sickness.

Sex between consenting adults is a private matter. The end.

(Not that I believe the Kerry-intern rumors. I don't. It's just this sex smear stuff is getting really stale.)

19. The public is becoming less flappable
about infidelity in politicians. The repugs
overplayed it with Clinton and it has lost
much of its ability to shock.

Poor America....we have such awful struggles
over anything that is associated with sex,
we want it both ways....wild and free while
at the same time rigidly controlled and
sanctified.

No wonder the world laughs at us.
