Bush Set to Speak at La. Military Base
By Associated Press

February 13, 2004, 12:43 PM EST

WASHINGTON -- President Bush plans a visit next week to Fort Polk, La., home to a regiment due to return soon from a year of service in Iraq.

Bush will speak to military personnel at the base on Tuesday, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Friday.

The 4,000-strong 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, in Iraq since last March, is due to return sometime in March or April. It is to be replaced by a brigade from the 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, Texas, as part of a larger troop rotation announced earlier by the Pentagon.

1. Just what the troops want
A year in a Iraq and now all they want to do is spend time with Family and friends, instead they must muster up and look pretty for George. Gag.

22. My Grandmother was a Wahl,,, Please don't associate the name
with *!!! Then again, she watched entirely too much cable news and thought the idiot son was a good change for the government. I like to think that she would have seen through his charade by now if she were still alive.

I think my mom is finally starting to see that what I have been saying about him for 4 years is closer to the truth that the crap they dump on Fridays. Now if only my sister would be able to wake up. My other sister is totally apolitical and I've given up hop eon her husband. My little brother, on the other hand, know * for the piece of dung that he is.

2. Can the Chimp appear ANYWHERE other than military bases?

His handlers must love the built in controls a military base gives them, not to mention an audience that can be court-martialed if they don't cheer loud enough.

5. Don't forget schools
The only audiences he has are either all supporters or people that can't talk back to him.

11. Just one step below Fort Stewart, GA
It was always ironic that a Mechinized Infantry Division with contingencies in SWA did it's training in a swamp.

10. They better take the soldiers' guns away...
...otherwise the traitor might get shot.

I remember reading (no idea where, now) that they took soldiers' weapons when Poppy Bush visited Kuwait around the time of the first Gulf War massacre.

12. No bullets
Almost anytime you see soldiers on parade there is absolutely no ammo anywhere around. It's very embarassing to have an accidental misfire!

13. Either W has balls of steel
or he doesn't have any at all.

How the hell can he use troops returning from Iraq for another photo op, with his own military record being torn to shreds right now?

I'll guess since it will be a staged event half the audience will be secret service agents. It's the only way they will be able to maintain order.

14. AWOL Will Be Hearing Boo's At Bases Very Very Soon
because their dead brothers and sisters are coming home in flag draped coffins. the military bases that once cheered him at every pause in his pitiful speeches will soon be throwing rotten tomatoes at him.

15. Hmmm - am I reading this wrong? Junior is NOT going to be speaking
.
.

to the returning troops . . the way I read it - - ?

It says GeeDubya is going to speak to the "personnel at the base" next Tuesday

and that the troops are not returning until "March or April" ?

Maybe he's aware that another stunt in front of returning troops won't work this time

cuz

Mission is NOT Accomplished - and they KNOW it . . .
