Kay: Bush Should Admit Error on Iraq WMD
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=542&ncid=703&e=2&u=/ap/20040213/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/kay_iraq

WASHINGTON - Former U.S. weapons inspector David Kay is advising President Bush (news - web sites) to acknowledge he was wrong about hidden storehouses of weapons in Iraq (news - web sites) and move ahead with overhauling the intelligence process.

In an Associated Press interview, Kay said the "serious burden of evidence" suggests Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) did not have caches of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons at the beginning of the Iraqi war, but was seriously engaged in developing missiles.

"You are better off if you acknowledge error and say we have learned from it and move ahead," Kay said in a 90-minute session Thursday with AP editors and reporters.

"I'm afraid if you don't acknowledge error, and everybody knows why you are afraid to acknowledge error, your political opponents will seize on it, the press will seize on it, and no one will give you credit," Kay said.

3. What me worry?
If the intelligence failures were so vast, and intelligence is so critical to national security, how can Bush allow a delay of 14 months before getting to the bottom of what went wrong?

(Aside from the fact that a quick read of the latest Mother Jones issue would be sufficient to pinpoint where things *really* went wrong.)

4. The guy is giving him PR advice to help him politically against Democrats
Not advice to help the country come together and solve the problem he created, IMHO.

5. 500 American's and 10,000+ Iraqi's died because of this "error"
but, lucky for Bush, his "error" was not lying about sex.
