Kentucky Man Demands Proof That Obama Is A U.S. Citizen
Source: News25

LEXINGTON, KY - An eastern Kentucky man wants President-elect Barack Obama to prove he is a natural-born U.S. citizen. Daniel John Essek, 47, filed a demand in court last week that Obama provide a copy of his birth certificate to a federal judge for verification.

This may be the first post-election court challenge to Obama's qualifications to be president. Being a U.S. citizen is one of the requirements to become president.

A Pennsylvania judge threw out a pre-election court challenge to Obama's birth qualification, saying the arguments were frivolous.

...

Essek says he voted for John McCain, but is questioning Obama's qualifications because he claims, "this is patriotism." Essek unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate in the primary election this year.

Cleaning Up My Mess

Ok, so maybe I got a little carried away, like my wife said.
There were many problems which beset my campaign.
The major one was my boss, Kerry Knight, cancelled, without notice, all of my home time.
I did make it home a few times, but it was always short and late.
Mr. Knight even kept me from making my Doctors' Appointments.

Mr. Essek,

If you insist on concrete proof that President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama is a natural citizen then I insist that you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that your parents weren't first cousins.

Thanks for the laughs, idiot. The late night talk show hosts are going to have fun running you through the shredder.

The good part is that the very fact that he is from Kentucky makes his claims idiotic from the start. Our state has become such a poster-child for ignorance.

28. Questionable
The only issue is that the certificate of live birth differs from a birth certificate. The certificate of live birth is only able to be used as proof of a birth anywhere. The birth certificate proves WHERE and WHEN a birth happened.
So that is where the confusion is, and Obama should just get his people to dig up the birth certificate and it all goes away.

Born in the U.S.A.
August 21, 2008
Updated: November 1, 2008
The truth about Obama's birth certificate.

Summary
In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

Update, Nov. 1: The director of Hawaii’s Department of Health confirmed Oct. 31 that Obama was born in Honolulu.
Analysis
Update Nov. 1: The Associated Press quoted Chiyome Fukino as saying that both she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.

Fukino also was quoted by several other news organizations. The Honolulu Advertiser quoted Fukino as saying the agency had been bombarded by requests, and that the registrar of statistics had even been called in at home in the middle of the night.
Honolulu Advertiser, Nov. 1 2008: "This has gotten ridiculous," state health director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said yesterday. "There are plenty of other, important things to focus on, like the economy, taxes, energy." . . . Will this be enough to quiet the doubters? "I hope so," Fukino said. "We need to get some work done."
Fukino said she has “personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures."

36. Well, gee
Who gives a damn about the stupid 'certificate of birth' or 'birth certificate' if his mother is a native US citizen then he is automatically a US citizen no matter where in the world he is actually born. From what I could tell on Wikipedia the different nomenclature of 'Birth Certificate' or 'Certificate of Birth' refer to the same type of document it is just named differently based on what jurisdiction you are in. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the term 'native born' does not specifically mean the person was 'born in the USA' it means that they were citizens at birth and not naturalized so his location of birth means nothing, nada, zero.

Bloody Hell. If the McCain or Clinton campaigns had thought this was a viable issue they would have brought it up during the primary / general campaigns.

That neither did should be proof enough to these idiots that Obama's opponents were convinced he met the citizenship requirement for POTUS.

61. What baffles me about this is that Homeland Security
With a Republican President, and a Republican Governor would have failed to pass on this information to John McCain in time to derail Obama's election. Just think: all of the CIA, FBI and NSA resources to investigate-they even investigated his trips to Pakistan-and they would have not noticed that he wasn't a natural born citizen? A well-timed leak to a reporter could have derailed Obama and thrown the Democratic Nomination into turmoil.

That alone tells me that the whole thing is bunk.
