Threat Closes U.S. Consulate in Greece

THESSALONIKI, Greece -- The U.S. consulate in this northern Greek city was closed Friday over security concerns, authorities said.

"The consulate is closed because a threat was made," Prodromos Triantafilou, a spokesman for the U.S. embassy in Athens, said but did not elaborate. The measure did not affect the Athens embassy.
