US 'jumping at shadows' as flights cancelled
US 'jumping at shadows' as flights cancelled

A senior pilot has accused the US intelligence service of "jumping at shadows" after British Airways cancelled flights to Washington and Riyadh for security reasons.

Jim McAuslan, general secretary of the British Airline Pilots' Association, said officials are "letting their imaginations run riot".

The union called on the Government to check out information from the US.

He said: "Safety and security is our priority but we now believe that the US intelligence service is jumping at shadows."

2. he hasn't been paying attention....
bushco* does not care about the safety of anyone save themselves. The airline scares are being used by the WH to keep people on edge and divert attention from their imminent demise.....

3. It's all for the cameras, for domestic consumption.
These ridiculous cancellations are intended to make it look like the idiot is actually doing something to protect the country.

4. Reminds me of the boy who cried wolf story - -
.
.

and I think alot, if not MOST people now just go "ho-hum" now when an "alert" goes out now

of course, there ARE people that are paranoid to begin with and these "alerts" must be driving them up the wall.

Not that there is much left, but the USA's credibility goes down another notch after each of these "alerts",

so when they finally REALLY have a danger to warn peopole about, alot of people will just ignore them

and "US Intelligence" is quickly becoming the replacement for the oxymoron "Military Intelligence"

5. Another possible reason for the cancellations
There is also some concern held by members of the pilot's union that the risk of "imminent threat" warnings from US intelligence are being used by the WH to force British carriers to carry armed air-marshalls. British carriers and the pilot's union have refused so far to agree to this. British Airways have said that they'll cancel any flight they suspect of carrying an air-marshall.

7. I've been wondering lately why we are supposed to.......
believe these 'terror alerts', when just last week Bush and Friends were telling us that the US intelligence agencies are full of shit.

One day it's 'they supplied us with faulty intelligence', and the next it's 'oh my God, look over there; terror, terror, terror'.

How they keep a straight face now when they point to the CIA as a credible source of new 'security concerns'?
