DP to challenge Museveni election
By Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda
Feb 13, 2004

Party targets 6 laws

KAMPALA – The Democratic Party plans to lodge a host of petitions in court, including one challenging the law under which President Museveni was elected in 2001.

The party also seeks to challenge five other laws, including the Parliamentary Elections Act under which the 7th Parliament was elected.

The DP plans to shoot down the Movement Act, Referendum law (under which the 2000 referendum on political systems was held), the Land Act and the Political Parties and Organisations Act.
