Rep. Broun stands by remarks on President-elect Obama ("not taking back anything he said.")

A Republican congressman from Georgia is standing by comments that he fears President-elect Barack Obama could be planning to build a domestic security force so that he can impose a Marxist dictatorship.

Rep. Paul Broun had sent mixed signals on Tuesday about retracting his comments, saying in a radio interview that he regretted the way they have been perceived while at the same time issuing a written statement defending them.

But spokeswoman Jessica Morris said Wednesday the congressman is "not taking back anything he said."

In an interview with The Associated Press Monday, Broun pointed to a speech Obama made in July in which he called for a large new civilian security force. Broun compared the proposal to security forces in Nazi Germany and said he was concerned that Obama could be planning something similar.

2. Well, he said he was sorry if you were offended
Which is, of course, not saying or being sorry at all. Naturally he stands by his berserk comments.

8. Exactly! When ever Democrats say anything a bit disparaging
about a republican they are forced to take it back! This is insane and should be denounced and rescinded.

5. Comments
True differing opinions are necessary to the functioning of a democratic republic. Yet when comments such as put forth by the Congressman are heard, the suggestion is that the Congressman is operating in an alternative reality. Such commentary is not fruitful to the positive and progressive operation of a democratic republic. A worldview operating in said alternative reality can only lead to chaos, pure unadulterated chaos, a chaos anchored on hatred and divisiveness. The Congress needs to look at this fellow and his cohort from Minnesota, Ms. Bachmann, and decide what action to take reagrading their reckless behavior and commentary.

7. I suspect the only appropriate reaction to comments like this is
to ask, with true concern, whether the congressman has gotten the help he needs.

Obviously, psychiatric care is required.

9. No of course not. They never apologize for anything they say.
It's always our people that are pussies and are forced to apologize for saying things that people don't want to hear.

That's why many people still regard the Democrats as the weakling party.

It's the term hallucinatory, semi-literate Republicans use to define Democrats, after their own hero, Senator Joseph McCarthy died of alcoholism, disgraced, and hated by Americans after his reign of terror with his witch-hunting season calling out people he tried to brand and destroy.

17. Rep Broun has no idea what the fsck he's talking about.
The Nazi Reich did not have "civiilan security forces". The SA and SS started as party faithful organized into a paramilitary force directed against those of other parties, and was then legitimized into professional military organizations under the Nazi regime. They were never cilvilan.

Toward the end of the war, the regime pressed into service the so-called Volkssürm or "people's storm", which was civilian but intended as a citizens militia in the cast of counter-insurgents.

But he needs an excuse to crap his drawers in public, and of course he's too much of a homonculus to realize he has something he needs to be ashamed of.

Oh! I see! He's from Georgia!

There may be a lot of sane people in the South, but for some reason, they never get elected.

19. I stand by my remarks that Rep. Broun is either a lying MFer, or an ignorant one.
Or, as I really suspect, both.
