GAINESVILLE, Fla. - An elderly man told police he robbed a bank to pay his wife's medical bills.

His wife was behind the wheel of a getaway car when the 71-year-old man ran from the bank, police said. Her doctor's appointment was scheduled a half hour later.

A dye pack exploded inside the bag of money, covering James Roland Clark as he left the bank. Clark and his 66-year-old wife, Deloris Jane Clark, were arrested shortly thereafter Tuesday, said Gainesville police Sgt. Keith Kameg....

Can we expect more of this in 21st century America?

3. It's been happening out here in OK, too --seniors robbing banks hoping
that they could get money to pay bills.

So, so sad.

7. A few years back a guy near here robbed a 7/11
He was an elderly guy with cancer.. He could not afford the treatments, so he held up the 7-11 and sat outside waiting for the cops..

Once he was arrested, he got treatment

8. My 77 year old mother filed bankruptcy
and sold much of her furniture to buy meds..wouldnt allow me to send her monies..I did buy a house for her and shes living there rent free..all I could do..she is independent, and she will not vote for Bush again..she uses some of her monies to help my sister who has kids and lost her job..so it comes home now, and the poor, sick, elderly, and kids are the ones who will pay the price of this administration...with their lives in many cases....the most innocent among us..
as for bU$sh..when they say they are christians, I have a feeling Christ would slap the living shit out of them if he could.

She takes 16 pills a day for various ailments. She signed all her assets over to her kids & lives in Section 8 housing so she can get her meds without bankrupting her whole family.

No, I am not making this up.

10. In 10 years
we might be seeing people rob banks, etc. to buy gas for their cars and homes. Not far-fetched if people are already doing it to pay for medical care/bills.
