Sergeant-at-Arms defends investigation involving judiciary memos
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/02/11/national1945EST0876.DTL

There is "no doubt" that Republican staffers acted improperly in accessing Democratic strategy memos on judicial nominees, the Senate's sergeant-at-arms said Wednesday, as he defended his investigation into the incident.
"There is no doubt that what was done by certain people was certainly improper. There is no way of getting around it," Sergeant-at-Arms William Pickle said in an interview with The Associated Press.

Pickle has been criticized by conservatives for the scope and cost of the investigation. Working with Secret Service agents, investigators have conducted more than 100 interviews and seized several computers.
"I think this is a colossal waste of time and taxpayer money," said Kay Daly, spokeswoman for the conservative group Coalition for a Fair Judiciary.

"I think this is a colossal waste of time and taxpayer money,"……….No, sorry Kay Daly, we’re talking about an illegality here vs. $60 million on something that wasn’t….I really think these people were abused as children….

1. Say that to the people who are going to have to suffer the wrath of
Pickering! The dems had a reason not to want that bastard appointed but the thugs worked their way around that didn't they! Colossal waste of time and money. I bet she feels the same about the pre-war intelligence, the 9-11 panel, the Plame investigation, the Halliburton investigation, the Energy Task Force investigation...Did I leave anything out?
