Just breaking.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Wesley Clark dropped out of the race for the White House on Wednesday, a retired four-star general unable to command significant support as a first-time presidential candidate.

"This is the end of the campaign for the presidency," Clark told supporters in his home state of Arkansas.

1. Good effort just a little too late
Maybe he should try for another political office before going for the number one spot. Maybe Congressman or Governor or even state representative. Get some political credentials and then he would be a force to be reckoned with.

2. He should of gone to Iowa. Clark was the "anti-Dean".....
...people saw Clark as a viable (electable) alternative to Dean.
Once the political season began last month, people became nervous
with Dean and switched to Kerry as they wanted to win.

If Clark had been in Iowa, he would have won these supporters over and he would be in 1st place now. Unfortunatly he did not get the
bounce he needed to stay in this race. Once Dean's campaign
deflated so did Clark's. Once Kerry became the clear frontrunner,
there was no more need for Clark to be the "anti-Dean", Kerry now
holds that title.

Sadly, this is what happened. I would of been 100% confident of
victory this fall with Wes Clark and now I am only 90% sure of
victory.

I like John Kerry and he was my second choice and now my first.
I will campaign for him and do whatever is needed to remove the
current "occupants" of the WH this fall. John Kerry will be a
great President, but I still would have prefered Clark.
