5. Interesting quote at the end:
"The Democratic rally isn't limited to Kerry. The Gallup Poll shows that positive opinion of the Democratic Party has surged over the past month to 59 percent. Positive opinion of the GOP has sagged to 48 percent."

THAT is the value of leadership. THAT is the value of standing up for what you believe in. The Democratic Party was a JOKE a year ago. Now look. Let's hope we can keep this up.

Thank you, Howard Dean.

He oughta stay in for the rest of the primaries just to keep the DNC honest. It's healthy for them.

8. Perhaps this means the end of Bush*s Wars du Jour
From the article:

...The percentage of Americans who think that it was worth going to war in Iraq has fallen off sharply since the capture of Saddam Hussein in December. In the euphoria of that moment, nearly two-thirds of Americans felt the war was worthwhile. Now, for the first time, fewer than half feel that way. That may be why Bush felt compelled to offer a concession to his critics: "I am putting together an independent, bipartisan commission to analyze where we stand, what we can do better, as we fight this war against terror."

10. While this is great news
we still have a long time to go. Bush is definitely weak at this point, but don't think that Rove will sit idley by.

14. rOve has lost his advantage of a positive image
of AWOL for the election....soon he will
try to regain advantage by destroying
the nominee.

This election campaign will be particularly
dirty and cutthroat.

We must brace for it.

15. Exactly. This is no time to let up.
In the grand tradition of gloves-off neocon politics, we need to:

Kick 'im while he's down;
Ridicule everything that he says;
Point out every lie that dribbles out;
Squash 'im squishy; and
Leave him a whining little grease spot on the pavement of American politics.

(In the kindest, gentlest possible way, of course. :evilgrin: )

18. The tide seems to be turning against the Bush junta and that includes
the puppet masters working behind the scenes. Could asleep at the switch 'muriKans *finally* be waking up? Let's hope so, otherwise we're F*ck'd.

Kerry's perceived electability is at the heart of his support. By 57 percent to 39 percent, Democrats say they prefer a nominee who has the best chance of beating Bush over a candidate they agree with on the issues. It's rare to find that kind of fixation on electability, but Democrats are experiencing a rare bout of powerlessness. They are out of power in the White House and in both houses of Congress. The Supreme Court awarded Bush the presidency. Most governors and state legislators are Republicans. And Democrats resent being bullied by the growing conservative influence in the news media.

19. Family members in their 80s say they've NEVER seen an election
cycle like this one. Everyone is focused on BEAT BUSH and they perceive Kerry as the one who can do that.

20. Yes, and I think that is a shame. We had the greatest group that
I've seen put together in a long time. Each had strengths. I think people could easily had voted their convictions and we'd still have a winner that could beat Shrub. He's pretty damned beatable this year and getting more so with each news article.
For the remainder of the primaries, I'd really like people to stop this "electable" BS.
