Final Rove electoral map sees large Obama win over McCain
Source: LA Times Blog

Well, the final day before the official presidential voting and the final version of Karl Rove's exclusive national electoral map sees a strong victory for Barack Obama, gaining the most electoral votes since Bill Clinton's lopsided win over Bob Dole in 1996.

According to the research of compiled state polls by Karl Rove & Co., the hypothetical electoral college numbers suggest an Obama win over the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin of 338 electoral votes to 200.

For the final report, Rove has allocated each state to the candidate leading there in state polls today.

According to these calculations, Obama takes hard-fought Florida. But McCain edges ahead in Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota and North Carolina.

2. By 'final' I hope they mean he'll go away
and we won't have to look at his smarmy face again.

8. I don't buy it. I think it's his last desparate chance to affect the election....
...hoping that if he talks it up maybe some people in close states will stay home thinking their vote isn't important.

9. Pretty convincing stuff imo
Rove lays it out there

The outcome could be even worse for McCain since Rove gives McCain the tie states.

13. Hell just froze over. His electoral map is identical to mine.
I'm scared.

If Karl Rove and I agree, the end of something must be near.

That's astonishing. Not to mention, uplifting.

Okay, I'm still scared.

Is this real?

16. That's exactly what RCP puts it at right now.
338 to 200, if you click on "No Toss-ups." But Missouri, Indiana, and North Carolina are in Johnny Mac's column by 0.5%, 1.4%, and 0.6%. That's one flap of a butterfly's wings.

338 to 200 is a convincing win, but I'm still predicting more. I've heard arguments for the polls being skewed one way or the other, and it seems to me there are more arguments and more credible ones for the polls slightly underestimating Obama's support. Early voting and a superior Get Out the Vote ground game favor Obama.

538.com projects Obama by 346.5 to 191.5 electoral votes. For obvious reasons, that cannot be the final outcome. I like the spike at 364 for Obama. That's North Carolina and either Indiana or Missouri going for Obama in addition to all the ones on Rove's map. But 375 is possible.

Me likee.

to motivate the troops. By saying that if you do nothing Obama will run away with the election.

21. I agree with you.
I didn't realize the Charlotte Observer had endorsed Obama until this evening, although I'm not sure if that will help or hurt.

Still, in the Charlotte area, I only know of 2 small pockets that are voting for he who shall not be named.
