Opposition Leader Calls for International Incentives for Mideast Peace

JERUSALEM (AP) - Europe should provide incentives for the Palestinians and Israelis to make peace, including offering them membership in the European Union, opposition leader Shimon Peres said Wednesday.
Peres, leader of the dovish Labor Party and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, said positive incentives are a better choice than trying to impose a solution, or, conversely, disengaging from the region.
