Man drives car with shark biting leg
Man drives car with shark biting leg
February 11, 2004

A SWIMMER attacked by a small shark was forced to drive for help with the persistent animal still gnawing his leg, it has been reported.

Luke Tresoglavic was swimming at Caves Beach, about 110 kilometres north of Sydney, when a 60 centimetre wobbegong shark bit his leg and refused to let go, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.

"Once I got on to shore, a couple of people tried to help me but I could not remove it, it was stuck there."

"So I got up into my car and then drove to the clubhouse and luckily the guys down there had a clue what to do."

7. Wouldn't you be...
if you looked like this?

Forget it, just another day risking life and limb in our most dangerous of countries :-)

I believe their actually considered a bit grumpy because they are small and funny looking, so people like to grab hold of them etc. I'd start attacking if tourists continually tried to pat me I think.

6. Man! I hate when that happens.
Can you imagine someone walking into an establishment with a shark on their leg?! " I'm sorry sir, this is a no shark clubhouse. You'll have to leave it at the door."

8. I'll stick to pools, thank you
I've never been bitten by anything that ugly in a chlorine environment.

Good God, I'll have nightmares tonight.

10. That reminds me of an incident when I was a kid
We had "shark nets" at a lot of the beaches.. They were basically underwater chainlink style barriers, to keep the sharks out .. but the sand would erode at the bottom, and occasionally kids would swim out there and reach under for big shells that would accumulate against it..

One day this kid about 12 or so, pops up screaming his head off.. Everyone gets out of the water and a bunch of parents head out to him.. When the bring him onshore, he has a nurse shark up to his elbow.. By now there's a crowd, and an ambulance shows up.. They took him to the base hospital with that shark still attached.. It did not have sharp shark teeth.. they are scavengers and this one just sucked his arm in..

He ands his arm were fine....

and then the fixed the shark net again..

11. although it's kinda early in the year
I wouldn't be surprised if CNN picks up the story and runs with it...

what really would have made the "ad-NEWSeum"* is if janet jackson's boob were attached to this guy's leg

"ad-NEWSeum" - the replaying of stories until viewers :puke:

12. "wobbegong shark"? Was Garrison Keiler involved?
The shark was quoted as saying "I don't know why I didn't let go. I guess that's just the way we always done it here...You Betcha!"
