Calpundit: Bush records show 6 month absence
http://www.calpundit.com/archives/003236.html

I've put together portions of two records into a single image. The top part is a pay record showing activity between January-April 1972, with a final entry on April 16. The bottom part is a pay record showing activity between October-November 1972. The first entry is on October 28.

The dates on the bottom record match the ARF attendance records showing duty on October 28-29 and November 11-14. A couple of comments:

The complete file contains seven separate pay records. The later ones seem to match the ARF attendance records.

For the first time, the pay records show the exact length of Bush's absence from duty in 1972: April 17 through October 27. That's six months.

Curiouser and curiouser.

1. Six AND A HALF months!

And we shouldn't consider the rest of the time accounted for unless there's proof that he served it in Alabama where he was supposed to be. And even then he'll have to explain why he's kept these records secret all his political life.

3. I don't think anybody knows yet...
He changed his SSN at some point- allegedly to clear his record.
We'll see how this plays out.

No privacy law breaking 'cause shrub is releasing it, just stooopid.

Looks like they also redacted pay amount, but not withholding, so you can figure out pay amount if you get some old tax tables.

4. Noticed something during the press conference...
Edited on Wed Feb-11-04 01:04 AM by Zhade
I'm watching it from CSpan.org - at about 33:30 into the clip, McClellan holds up the records and says "These are are the payroll records that we understand are available. This is it."

Listen very carefully. As he begins his next sentence, you can very clearly hear one of the press corp members - a male voice - say "bullshit".

EDIT: here's the page with the clip - http://www.cspan.org/videoarchives.asp?CatCodePairs=, But you'll have to browse back, the page has changed.

5. Did you also hear McClellan's "dishonorable discharge" slip of the tongue?
It absolutely happened. MAJOR-LEAGUE slip.

12. what could one do in six months?
serve a jail sentence?
go through rehab?
perform court-ordered community service?
enter a guard-sponsored version of rehab

one doesn't just disappear from the face of the earth for six months. he had to be somewhere. obviously, it wasn't with his guard unit in alabama.

why doesn't someone ask winton blount's son. he's very active in alabama politics. i'm sure he and w. hung out during the campaign.

why doesn't someone check houston court records? isn't that where he was allegedly arrested on for coke possession?

a rotten fish is beginning to stink. pay records only mean you drew a check. they don't say where you were or what you were doing. they're hiding something that's apparently very, very big.
