(San Diego) Mayor and daughter oppose Prop. 8 in magazine

San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders made national headlines and gave YouTube visitors something to see in September 2007 with his tearful turnaround to support same-sex marriage and his lesbian daughter's right to marry.

He's made national headlines again for his opposition to Proposition 8, the Nov. 4 state ballot measure that would institute a constitutional ban on same-sex marriages.

Father and daughter are featured in an article called "When Politics Becomes Personal" in the Nov. 4 issue of The Advocate, a national magazine based in Los Angeles. It's on page 10 of 13 in this document.

In the article, Sanders says he has attended fundraisers for the campaign against Proposition 8 and has a sign in his yard broadcasting his opposition.

I am glad to hear any and all oposition to prop 8. The Yes on 8 people have been tryin to scare us Californians with their "Churches will lose tax exempt status if prop 8 fails" nonsense. I come from one of the most conservative counties in California (John T. Doolittle's district) and I see far more yes on 8 signs and demonstrators than No on 8.
