McCain campaign recommends sending criminal lawyers to swing states
Staff

John Danforth, former U.S. Senator and Co-Chair of the McCain-Palin Honest and Open Election Committee, described the conduct of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) as “particularly outrageous,” and offered recommendations for a fair election. These included having ACORN submit their database to election authorities, reporting canvassers who turned in false information, and having the Department of Justice send criminal lawyers along with the initially planned civil rights lawyers to battleground states.

“Some say ‘well, the presence of lawyers throughout the country is itself intimidation’. We don’t understand how it can be viewed as intimidation if lawyers from the criminal division show up, but not when lawyers from the civil division showed up,” said Danforth during a McCain-Palin conference call.

“These are not people who appear in windbreakers that say FBI on the back. These are simply attorneys who are making sure the process is working well.”

Danforth noted the seriousness of the allegations against ACORN.

“When the registration system is subverted to the tune of 400,000 applications submitted by one organization, that really undermines the whole process of conducting elections.”

1. "Making sure the process is going well" means that
slow down the process so much that all the Dems will not wait in line for more than 12 hours and have to go to their second or third jobs. Repugnican scum.

2. These people lack any conscience at all, they know
perfectly well that they are lying about ACORN. They have made voter suppression, and the lies about voter fraud, central to their campaigns because they could not possibly win an election on the basis of their ideas and policies. Democrats really need to make vote suppression and vote manipulation a national issue, education the public, and put in place some legislation to tamp down on this.

3. Even better Mr Danforth
Let's ask the UN to send in the Elections Observers, and have them go over the GOP Voter Supression efforts. Let's have them "Interview" those GOP Officials who told College Voters they couldn't vote.

Let's make sure it goes smoothly, straight across the board.

Damned Lying Rethuglican Pukes!!!

6. I assume that the Republican version of a criminal lawyer is
a lawyer who is a criminal.

8. Danforth...who helped put the criminal and perverted Thomas on the SC . . .
The GOP is nutsy over Acorn and the registrations -- and the GOP is counting --- !!!

Evidently bolstering Civil Rights is not to their liking --

and they see no difference between civil rights and criminal investigation --- !!!

Why isn't sending civil rights lawyers good enough for them?

9. Wow
I had read more than a few reports about Danforth becoming a bit enlightened. Guess not. ACORN is a total non story and he can't be so dumb not to know that. Shame on him.

11. When McCain says "Functionally Tied" he means
"We have cooked the books" and are saying this to instill this idea into people's heads to cover our illegally stealing the election. The same with the posing he is doing on "sending lawyers".

12. Gee . . . one group of lawyers wants to STOP people from voting . . .
and the other wants to HELP people vote if challenged. I can't imagine why anyone would think that one group was more intimidating than the other.

Danforth, who usually appears as a reasonably honest guy as Republicans go, is giving us the idiot treatment. He knows quite well that Acorn continually struggles with the discipline of its canvassers *specifically* because it recruits from among the disadvantaged. If they were allowed to discard phony registrations when their employees produce them, then there'd be no issue at all.

And as it is, it's not like Mickey Mouse is going to show up to vote (well, maybe in Orlando or Anaheim . . .)
