The next 50 people to donate $10 or more get a free book by a DU member!
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 06:50 PM by Skinner
Author Eric Sisak (DU username: frank frankly) has generously donated 50 copies of his thriller The Book of Spiral to DU as a promotion for our fund drive!

The next 50 people who donate $10 or more to DU will receive a copy of the book as a free gift! That's a $10 value, absolutely free!

Praise for The Book of Spiral

"Sisak displays a similar style to the great detective novelists, starting with Poe." -- Pitt News, University of Pittsburgh

"The
Book of Spiral is a scary, exciting book that sucked me in from page one, and left me disoriented and spooked. Sisak delivers the goods." -- Dave Mansueto, host of "Monday Talk Talk", PCTV

"Eric Sisak has written a beautiful and foreboding novel that is compelling, extremely potent, and contains an almost vertigo effect which will absorb the reader and demand a second reading. This book will occupy your time for just a short while and your mind for many years." -- Michael Ketter, host of "You Are What You Think", WBCQ Radio

"The
Book of Spiral is an unexpected burst of clean, fierce horror." -- Richard Vyde, author, Interesting Pockets

"Sisak's imagination for disquieting details is boundless. Deft, ringing images leap off the page as if fleeing a child's nightmare. This is the read you've been waiting for." --
Pillbox, Carnegie Mellon University.

Come on, everyone! Let's get our total number of donations up to 400 before midnight tonight!

NOTE: This promotion ends when the leaderboard reaches 391. Click this link and scroll to the bottom for info:

1. As long as it's not Michael Moore
I'm still angry at him for helping Bush steal the election from Gore. I crunched the numbers of his average book sales vs total number of registered Democrats - it works out to about 3% of all Democrats.

Now, Moore told his followers to vote Green with Nader and as you know if you've ever met one of his followers, they're worse then the @#$% ditto-heads in obeying thier master.

So Ralphy-boy gets about 100,000 votes in FL, which means that the 3% that Moore controls works out to around 3,000 votes.

If Moore hadn't thrown his tantrum and simply done the right thing and opposed Bush, then Gore would have had up to 3,000 extra votes - more then the rapidly declining figure of 250(?) extra that Bush supposedly had.

But no, Moore had to go and do his own thing and now were are we - 9/11 happened, Bush is running around the middle east murdering anyone who's Muslim and invading any country that's got oil, the budget's been busted, unemployment is skyrocketing (I lost my job in 2002 - thanks King George!), gay rights are being raped - thanks a freakin lot Mr Moore.

I'm personally waiting for his books to come out in softback and his movies on video as a form of protest/boycott for that blunder - I know his heart was in the right place, but let's face it - Moore gave Bush the election. :(
