Anti-war inquiry unrelated to terror
Federal officials Monday said a grand jury inquiry involving four peace activists and Drake University is not part of an anti-terrorism investigation.

U.S. Attorney Stephen Patrick O'Meara said late Monday that the investigation focuses on unlawful entry onto military property at Camp Dodge on Nov. 16, and whether plans were laid for that at a conference the day before at Drake.

Suggestions that the investigation is related to the Patriot Act "are not accurate," O'Meara said.

O'Meara's statement and comments from the FBI broke nearly a week of silence from federal officials, who also slowed the investigation Monday, postponing grand jury testimony that had been scheduled for today.

4. federal bureau of intimidation... it's deja vue all over again
glad crime is under control and these guys have time to harass dissenters on small campuses. Oh, I forgot, crime is now legal since the malAdministration lets the foxes right the chicken coup rules. Guess the Hoover-ites have to find something else to do... Always means busy times for the ACLU.

Man, somedays I wake up, glance at the news and ask myself, "WTF year is this. My tired old body sure doesn't feel like it's the 60s..."

Kiddies, be darned careful what you say at any meeting if there are faces there you are not familiar with. It is OK for DoJ to teach local cops how to subvert the Patriot Act to justify anything they wanna do. It is ok for law enforcement to infiltrate groups (and likely become law-breaking-activity-inciters in order to make arrests). It's OK to bend, spindle and mutilate the US Constitution. Evidently, it is not OK for citizens to exercise free association and assmebly.

Grownups in charge? No, same old-school bullies chasing us like the last time we sang Give Peace a Chance.
