GREEN, Ohio - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, indicated Wednesday that she would release her medical records, which she said would show that she had never been seriously ill.

Palin was the only member of the Democratic or Republican presidential tickets who had not discussed her health or allowed her medical records to become public. The Republican campaign’s silence on her medical history became an issue this week when The New York Times raised questions about the capacity of the Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, to finish out a full term as a 72-year-old survivor of cancer.

Asked specifically if she would release her medical records, she replied, “The medical records — so be it.

“If that will allow some curiosity seekers, perhaps, to have, oh one more thing that they can either check the box off that they can find something to criticize, perhaps, or find something to rest them assured over, fine,” she said.

“I’m healthy, I’m happy, I’ve had five kids — that’s going to be in the medical records,” she added. “Never been seriously ill or hurt — you’ll see that in the medical records if they’re released.”

And who cares about it? Well, since presidential and vice presidential candidates have been making these things public for years now, it sort of raises an eyebrow when someone flat out refuses to release any records at all. And considering her brief public record and her extensive record of public mendacity, it makes it all the more suspicious.

Actually clinical depression, or the like, with the stress of being president could really take a toll - it's VERY HARD to function when the depressed cycle comes around. The medication that is supposed to cure this causes very unpleasant changes in creative and critical thinking, as well as emotional flatness, so that doesn't help much either. We all know McPain is more like 82 real-age, given his life experience as a POW and with cancer. The likelihood of his cancer returning virulently is very high, in addition to regular age-related illness. If he wins she's undoubtedly president, so her medical records are honestly important. The handful of voters who think they're safely voting for McPain and can ignore her, it should make them think twice, since they're quite likely voting to make her president. I hope this made sense. :shrug: Weird thing is, though, a large number of the McPain supporters seem to be voting FOR Sarah, and ignoring him... just freaky.
