Woman quits job at call center over anti-Obama script
Source: The Charleston Gazette - West Virginia

By Paul J. Nyden
Staff writer

WESTON, W.Va. -- Chaylee Cole, a student at Fairmont State University, lost her part-time job in Weston last Friday after refusing to make telephone calls attacking Barack Obama.

McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee were paying for the calls, according to a "work paper" handed to Cole and her co-workers at the Weston offices of 1.2.1 Direct Response, a company based in Philadelphia.

"I was working at the call center," Cole said. "We got a campaign ad talking about how Obama had been part of terrorist attacks on the Capitol, the Pentagon and a judge's home and had ties with Bill Ayers.

"Last Thursday, I told them I did not want to read it," Cole said. "They said, 'Either you read it or you go home.'

"I told them I wasn't going to read it. They made me go home without pay for the rest of the day."

The "work paper" told callers to say:

"Hello, I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC because you need to know that Barack Obama has worked closely with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers , whose organization bombed the US Capitol, the Pentagon, a judge's home, and killed Americans.

"And Democrats will enact an extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington. Barack Obama and his Democrat allies lack the judgment to lead our country.

"This call was paid for by McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee."

I honestly don't mind if McSane uses Obama's record to make a point.
But I'm getting sick of hearing McSane making $hit up.

Obama's 8 years old, yet he was a part of terrorist attacks!

Look if Ayers is a terrorist, why is he not locked up?
Isn't that what the Patriot Act is about, locking up foreign and domestic terrorist?

Ok, Ayers is not arrested. He's not a terrorist. Enough said.

She had every right to tell them to f*** off. I would have done the same.

3. I have been volunteering at the Obama campaign
office in my city. All of the talking points information we are given focus on Obama's policies and at the most contrast them to proposals made by Sen. McCain.

6. I thought I read somewhere that McCain "out-sourced" his phone banks to India ...

I wonder - didn't this student realize they have no positive platform to run on so they can only invent lies?

9. We have a ton of call centers in this state
I've worked in several of the ones in the Huntington area. The companies I worked for that did calling for multiple vendors *always* had campaign calling for the NRA and RNC at election time. There were *never* any campaigns to call for Democrats. Never. I don't know if the Democratic Party doesn't do this type of calling, if the company owners are all Republicans, if the Republicans pay more than the Democrats, or what. But in my experience, the call centers were always calling for the RNC, never the Dems.

I now hate call center work with a passion, btw, and I like to think that I'm revenging myself on the entire industry by calling for Obama, from home, for free.

15. a re-enactment
This is what it would look like if the fat, rich Pharisees and money changers that Jesus threw out of the temple were to MOCK Jesus's horrible death on a safe construct they built for that purpose.

I'm a pacifist but for the life of me I can't help but wish one of them would have slipped off the little platform and had to hang there by his wrists, which would probably break from all the weight, until they could get him down. Sorry these kind of holier-than-thou (literally) fundies piss me off to no end.

22. Another one quit in WI

Associated Press - October 22, 2008 3:17 PM ET

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Telemarketers in Wisconsin and West Virginia asked to make calls bashing Barack Obama and linking him to 1960s radical William Ayers quit their jobs rather than read the required script.

The calls were paid for by the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee and are being placed in several states.

In West Virginia, Fairmont State University student Chaylee (SHAY-lee) Cole says she quit her job after being asked to read a script connecting Obama to Ayers.

And in Wisconsin, Ted Zoromski of Middleton says he quit his telemarketing job when required to make a different anti-Obama call.
