McCain warns Obama not to get cocky
Source: AFP

GOFFSTOWN, New Hampshire (AFP) — John McCain warned rival Barack Obama not to get cocky with his comfortable lead in the polls Wednesday as he hammered away at the Democrat's plans to "redistribute wealth."

"My opponent's looking pretty confident these days," McCain told a rally in Goffstown, New Hampshire.

"He'll be addressing the nation soon. He's got another one of those big-stadium spectacles in the works, acting like the election is over."

But McCain said the people often prove the pundits and pollsters wrong, like the surprise win he posted in the New Hampshire primary which put his flagging campaign on the path to the Republican nomination.

"I can't think of any place I'd rather be as election day draws close than running an underdog campaign in the state of New Hampshire," McCain told the cheering crowd.

9. then schedule your own big-stadium spectacle
oh that's right. You can't draw more than 5k on a weekend in a red state. Also, if you acted like you had the election in the bag, everyone would think you had finally snapped.
Make that finally finally snapped.

18. Yeah, that's the ticket.........
We've got That One right where we want him. Didn't he use that same "no place I'd rather be" line 2 weeks ago in Ohio? He's gonna have to quit hiding behind Wolfmother's skirt if they're gonna be in two places at once. Then again, he's finally pushed Cindy Stepford McPurse out on her own, and I'm sure she's drawing big crowds...........................................................................................................

19. McPOW sounds TOO confident to me...
I just hope he doesn't already know that this election is going to be stolen for him. All this talk of a Bradley effect is worrying me, not that I believe it, but it may be what they plan to use as their excuse, the lying fucks.

27. yup..we should thank John!
the Obama Campaign has been telling us for weeks now not to get complacent, to disregard the polls, and not to let up. I guess McCain is just reiterating the message. Plus taking a swipe at Obama is always good for a few votes.

30. Hasn't Obama been warning Obama not to get cocky?
I mean, there's adjectives I'd be even less likely to apply to Obama, such as "radioactive" or "mauve," but "cocky" was never exactly high up on the list either. The guy's been telling his own supporters there's a ways to go yet.
