Palin: The 'right thing' for America will happen Nov. 4
Source: Boston Globe

Sarah Palin told a high-profile conservative Christian leader that she isn't discouraged by the Republican ticket's sagging poll numbers because she and running mate John McCain have been underdogs all their lives.

"I know at the end of the day, putting this in God's hands, the right thing for America will be done at the end of the day on Nov. 4," the GOP vice presidential nominee told James Dobson, head of Focus on the Family, who interviewed Palin by phone Monday in Colorado. The audio of the interview was posted online today.

"To me it motivates us. I'm not discouraged at all," she said.

During the interview, Dobson declared himself a "big fan" of Palin and said he was praying for her. "I've never seen such hatred," he said of what he called personal attacks on her and her family.

Asked what lessons she's learned, she replied, "You can't pick a fight with those who buy ink by the barrelful." She said she has faith that the message will get out to voters, without the media filtering it.

1. Yeah, God is a Republican
I keep forgetting. I'm sure he's keeping up with the election, and will take care of it for his party on the 4th.

Seriously, the fundy base of that party is batshit crazy insane.

12. Yes it will. You go into the Shitcan Of History, Sarah.
Your 15 minutes of fame are almost up.

And I can't believe the Dobson comment, considering his hateful screeds about gays, liberals, etc.

Before I moved to Egypt, I lived in Los Angeles and could usually catch Dobson's rants while driving to work in the morning.

I noticed a funny thing about him (apart from everything else). That man is flat-out OBSESSED with the idea of teen-agers having sex.

One of these days, I hope, his dark and secret little closet will bust right open and all sorts of slime is going to pour out.

Asking for information about rape kits, book banning and budget deficits as mayor?

Asking all the same questions any VP candidate would get?

34. Palin says election result rests in God's hands
Source: AP via Yahoo! News

DENVER - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin
describes herself as a "hard-core pro-lifer" and expresses confidence
that in spite of disheartening polls, "putting this in God's hands, that
the right thing for America will be done at the end of the day on Nov.
4."

In an interview with evangelical leader James Dobson that aired
Wednesday, Palin said she thought Republican presidential candidate
John McCain would implement the GOP platform if elected - "I do,
from the bottom of my heart" - but McCain doesn't support the
platform on three issues important to evangelicals: abortion, gay
marriage and embryonic stem cell research.

The platform calls for a constitutional ban on gay marriage, an issue
McCain says should be left to individual states. Similarly, the platform
seeks a constitutional ban on all abortions; again, McCain supports
allowing states to decide the question. McCain supports research
using embryonic stem cells, which the platform opposes.

Palin called it a "strong platform" and told Dobson, "They are there,
they are solid, we stand on them, and, again, I believe that is is the
right agenda for the country at this time."

Sarah Palin has got to be the first VP candidate ever to begin a run
for the presidency before the previous presidential election even
took place.

39. For believers...
...Yep, this election is in God's hands.

And considering the trends in polling and a candidate in Obama who actually tries to LIVE what the Bible teaches...

Palin and her ilk might wake up to a different concept of God come the AM of November 5th.

Let's make this happen.

"Christ has no body now but yours
No hands, no feet on earth but yours
Yours are the eyes through which He looks
compassion on this world
Christ has no body now on earth but yours."

-St. Teresa of Avila, 16th century Spanish contemplative and contemporary of St. John of the Cross

Get out the vote, get out the vote, get out the vote, get out the vote, get out the vote for OBAMA-BIDEN on Nov. 4. Use hands, feet, cars, trucks, buses and make sure the voters see (whenever possible) that the machines are recording the correct vote.

Get out the vote for Obama-Biden. The rest will take care of itself.

to imply that God (if you're a believer like me) doesn't give us free will, and the election is only "up to God" is one of the most dumb comments this Caribou Barbie has dribbled out of her forked tongue this whole two months we the people have known of her.

the more she speaks the more she damages McSame's chances --- keep on blowing off about palling with terrorists, the "real" America, and other inanities, all while the scandals you've been a part of come crashing around you - troopergate, travelgate, pradagate and your inability to answer questions with a shred of believability in knowing what the H you're talking about!

Seriously, we cannot lose to these morons - America will not put this moose killer in the White House - sure there's 35% of people who love voting for people they feel superior to and sorry for, but the majority of us want the smartest person in the room running things!

Rachel Maddow said as much yesterday. She's not appealing to any other groups to put a dent in Obama's lead. The McCain campaign is only allowing her to speak in politically "safe" venues, like Findlay, Ohio on Wednesday.

59. She knows this election is not about McPain getting the presidency
but about her elevation as the head of the conservative wing of the Republican Party. That's already been accomplished, because when McLame loses, nobody in the wingnut faction will blame her, only him. She knows there's zero difference between being VP or being Alaska governor for the next four years, she will still be the first person the fundies think of when they go looking for a nominee in four years.

Frankly, if McInsane loses, she doesn't have to push him out of the way for her own run, the Repukes will do that for her. Also, she knows she won't have to run against Hillary in four years if Obama wins, she probably figures he'll be a softer target by then. And if he's not, then she has time to wait until 2016.
