GMA - O'Reilly made to apologize
Charles Gibson made O'Reilly watch the tape where he said "If nothing (WMDs) is found, I will apologize and I will never trust the Bush administration"

He gave a half-hearted apology and stepped back from his other statement about trust: he blamed Tenet.

1. I also am sorry
That BushCo Brownnoser O'Reilly has nationally broadcast radio and TV shows to spew his misinformation and narrow-minded views.

Can you spell T-o-a-d-y ?

22. But, here, in a Republican suburb
In the local Supermarket, where it has about 50 ft shelf space for books, one can find John Le Care and O'Reilly books, but Franken is nowhere to be found.

Hey, that's the same suburb where my club one day changed one TV from HD News to Faux News because "it got a volume of complaints.."

My complaint ended up as just that, a complaint..

That Would Have Been Great To Watch
... just to see him squirm.

But why am I not surprised to hear your description of his apology as being 'half-hearted' and that he backpedaled on his statement about no longer trusting the Bush* administration.

awards?"

I love that line. I also love this one:

"Don't you think it's funny that you got it wrong about a JOURNALISM award?"

Gibson kept telling O'Reilly which camera was 'on' and to 'face the camera' when apologizing! You could tell Charlie was enjoying the moment!

10. Good point.
BushCo is gaming the blame, cruising along in hopes the topic will die. Nobody's been fired by Bush though Paul O'Neill was "resigned" for telling the truth.

16. O'Neill was fired
Cheney asked him to say he was leaving to spend more time with his family, but O'Neill refused, saying he was too old to start lying. Cheney was pissed.

Makes me wonder how Karen Hughes' son has been doing since he made her quit her job because he didn't like DC.:eyes:

That's one lucky kid to have a mom who would quit her job - a job, mind you, that was the ultimate job for someone in her profession. Yep, she threw it all away because Maude Jr. wanted to go home to TX... uh huh... :eyes:

12. O'Liar screwed up bigtime IMO.
He should have bitten his pride and warm feelings for Der Fuhrer and moved on. Now he has kept the issue alive.

13. What annoyed me about this interview. . .
Did y'all catch the part where he said that Kerry's wife would pick his running mate--that she got the deciding vote? And then he went on to say that Hillary had to approve Kerry's choice of VP--and of course, Charlie Gibson sat there like a bump on a log and didn't challenge him on any of those statements. WTF is up with that?

34. it's called giving O'Liely enough rope to hang himself
there are times to pick a fight and times to bait the prey---it's good enough sometimes to draw them out for others to pick the carcass clean, metaphorically speaking.

Gibson knows how to play him.

21. The Apology Was Not Acceptable to me !

Sorry, his apology was not good enough.

Gibson played the tape where he said If nothing is found, I will apologize
and I will never trust the Bush administration again.

He gave a lame ass sort of apology and backed off the other part about
trust, then he blamed Tenet and the CIA.

But he did not say we should never trust the Bush administration again. Plus he may have
never said anything if Gibson did not play the tape, and I want to see O'Reilly apologize on
his show.

This was not the apology he promised to give, he said he was skeptical about the Bush
administration now.

Quote:

"And I said on my program, if -- if -- the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein
and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush
administration again."

Bill did not say he will not trust the Bush administration again, he only said he was
skeptical. Until he says we can not trust the Bush administration again the clock keeps
running. And he must apologize on his show too.

http://www.oreilly-sucks.com/clock.htm

I give him credit for the half-hearted apology, but it's not good enough.

31. Guys: This is O'Rilly. This is as good as it gets. And it is GOOD.
Because, think about it: is there the slightest slightest chance that he'd say such a thing if he didn't perceive the wind as blowing against the Bush administration? This is ass-covering, pure and simple. That giant sucking sound is O'Reilly removing his pursed lips from Dubya's bony backside. Admitting he was "wrong" is just gravy, to try to prop up his "fair and balanced" image. It's a totally calculated career move. And the beauty part is, it *still* must have killed him to do it. Squirm, you miserable little thin-skinned fuckwad, twist and *squirm.*

25. Story posted on Reuters
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040210/people_nm/campaign_bush_oreilly_dc_3

Conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq (news - web sites) had weapons of mass destruction.

The anchor of his own show on Fox News said he was sorry he gave the U.S. government the benefit of the doubt that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s weapons program poised an imminent threat, the main reason cited for going to war.

"I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans should be concerned about this," O'Reilly said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America."

"What do you want me to do, go over and kiss the camera?" asked O'Reilly, who had promised rival ABC last year he would publicly apologize if weapons were not found.
