35 dead in Mideast air crash

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CNN) -- An Iranian airliner has crashed near Sharjah airport in the United Arab Emirates, killing at least 35 people.

CNN.com Arabic's Caroline Faraj said that about 40 passengers, including a baby, and six crew were aboard the "short-hop" commuter flight from Kish island when it crashed in flames at about 11:40 p.m. (0740 GMT) approaching Sharjah airport.

Reports said there six survivors, including a child.

3. They call these VISA flights

Quick hops back to the home country and then another VISA when you reenter the country.

They are VERY cheap and operated by some pretty bad airlines.

This was just a few kilometers from my house. I am less than a mile from the Sharjah airport.

This definitely is NOT a terrorist incident... just a REALLY bad plane.
