Government Ends Search for More Mad Cow Cases
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Agriculture Department said Monday it is ending its search for additional cases of mad cow disease even though officials have not found all the animals they sought after the nation's first case turned up in December.

"Our investigation is now complete," Ron De Haven, the department's chief veterinarian, told reporters in a telephone conference call. "We feel very confident the remaining animals, the ones we have not been able to positively identify, represent little risk."

1. Little risk to Beef Industry executives...that is
Just as I suspected. The Busheviks would let us all die as long as our descendants keep buying their crap (in this case, tainted beef).

Hey, at least they investigated more vigorously than Heinrich Asscroft investigating his friends the Anthrax Assassin and the Plame Leaker.

Remember when America was free? It seems so long ago now.

3. more than 50 out of 80 in mad cow herd not found - been eaten by now
so why worry?

back to the non-testing game - 30000 to be tested out of 40 million killed!

Thank god that with Bush we do not need to put up with pointless government regulation - and think of the money saved that the corporate farms can now move to earnings!

4. my household has gone
to a "no beef" diet.

I shall never again eat the beef that this mal-administration has "blessed" by their lack of regulations and corporate subsidies to those that will pick my pockets whilst trying to kill me.

6. Started testing in October--had a winner by December
It took only two months for a cow to test positive after BSE testing began at that one facility. Averaging 83 tests a month, so it took only about 166 tests to come up with one positive.

What are the odds of that?

Organic beef is way more expensive, but the flavor is amazing. We're buying a freezer so we can buy in bulk from any of several organic producers in our state. We'll get a better price and support small business at the same time.
