American Airlines Pilot Plugs Christianity

NEW YORK - An American Airlines pilot asked Christians on his flight to identify themselves and suggested the non-Christians discuss the faith with them, the airline said.

The case was handed over to the airline's personnel department for an investigation, spokesman Tim Wagner said Sunday.

"It falls along the lines of a personal level of sharing that may not be appropriate for one of our employees to do while on the job," he said earlier.

American's Flight 34 was headed from Los Angeles to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport on Friday when the pilot asked Christians on board to raise their hands, Wagner said.

1. Note to self: avoid American Airlines.
Of course, knowing my luck, I'm probably on the no-fly list.

Nah. That's not too likely. Right...?

2. The Christian message is a great one...however
this obviously isn't the way to disseminate it. This type of display invites disparagement of Christians.

3. It's a wonder the passengers didn't go into a panic
It would scare me. Remember that Egyptian pilot deliberately creashing his plane and muttering sacred verses all the way down?

I've taken part in a service on board a boat, but we knew what we signed on for ahead of time.

4. Likely never be an announcement of the type of punishment?? Why
would that be? He publicly terrorized people while piloting an airliner. We better damn well find out the guy lost his job and is facing charges. If I as a passenger can't make a joke about security or bombs or some such thing then he sure as hell can't be pulling off that crap!

7. Facing charges ?
What law was broken ? his actions may not have been ethical, and violated company policy, but I would seriously doubt they were illegal.
