Dem strategists see landslide in the making
Source: Politico

Three weeks of historic economic upheaval has done more than just tilt a handful of once-reliably Republican states in Barack Obama’s direction. Democratic strategists are now optimistic that the ongoing crisis could lead to a landslide Obama victory.

Four large states McCain once seemed well-positioned to win — Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and Florida — have in recent weeks shifted toward Obama. If Obama were to win those four states — a scenario that would represent a remarkable turn of events — he would likely surpass 350 electoral votes. ..

.. Bill Clinton’s former pollster Doug Schoen calls this the “economic tsunami.”

And it’s this tsunami that has altered the electoral map in a way that Obama himself could not. ..

1. I wouldn't count on Ohio or Florida. They are the homes of the rigged election.

2. Jennifer Brunner has been working hard in Ohio to make sure the elections
are fair. Really pissing off the gop, too.

Not sure about Florida, though.

4. I've heard about her. Here in CA, we elected Debra Bowen.
She's a election fraud activist, now SOS. It's great. We still have bad counties, but she's steadily rooting them out.

Florida. Sigh. Still, as I understand it, Palin is what has moved the numbers there, and they're climbing.

They can only steal by 3% or so.

They seem to think it's their right, now, sort of a Repbulican bonus written into the system.

Now, that's treason.

9. We've had some reforms down here
I just moved here to Florida. It would be great if we could redeem this state by sending Obama over the electoral threshold!

They better freakin' count our votes. But I'm in Leon County, with one of the best election supervisors in the state, I think.

7. They can only rig it if it's close.
I'm no expert of the subject, but I'll guess that if we win by a % that is outside the margin of error of polls (so by at least 4% or so) the rigging won't work. If they try to bite off more then they can chew it would look too obvious, especially because they are being watched a lot more.

This is why we need to really work on GOTV.

5. Yup
People don't register or vote in record numbers if they're happy with the status quo.

(As long as they show up and vote)

6. Which, of course, would confirm for Pelosi and the rest that they were right
to repeatedly treat us like Battered Spouses who are so psychologically disabled that we no longer believe we have any self-worth.

...and who will always come crawling back to kiss their feet even after they've injured us so badly that those of us now alive might never recover.

8. If it keeps up, forget the Obama landslide ...
and focus on the Democratic landslide. Secure control of congress, and of statehouses, is an important goal second only to winning the presidency.

10. How do you define landslide?
I once heard it defined as one side winning at least 60%. That seems kind of high for this election. A win in the range of 57% to 37% might be possible. That's a 20 point differential. In electoral votes, I have already predicted a win of around than 2:1 for Obama.

12. And this is POLITICO (a really, really, Liberal news organization. wink, wink!).........
......I thought back before either Convention that it was looking like an Obama (and by way, Congressional & Senate) blowout. Then the Conventions and the "Palin thing" hit. After all the shit of the last 2 weeks, it is looking blowout again.
