Blix Says Bush, Blair Insincere Salesmen on Iraq
LONDON (Reuters) - The former chief U.N. weapons inspector Sunday likened the use of intelligence by the leaders of Britain and the United States to justify war in Iraq (news - web sites) to the tactics of insincere salesmen.

Hans Blix -- who pleaded for more time to search Iraq for nuclear, chemical and biological weapons before a U.S.-led invasion in March -- said the West had a right to expect more from their leaders.

"The intention was to dramatize it (the intelligence) just as the vendors of some merchandise are trying to exaggerate the importance of what they have," Blix told BBC television.

Nearly 10 months after the war none of the biological or chemical weapons cited by President Bush (news - web sites) and British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) as the reason for a pre-emptive attack on Iraq have been found.

1. He doesn't exist
Bush keeps saying Hussein should have let weapons inspectors in to avoid war. I swear to God I just heard someone repeat that on C-SPAN. Are neocons really that easily suckered or brainwashed? Am I going crazy?

2. Bush* and Blair both suffer from a case of selective memory. Yes,
they have both said that Hussein wouldn't let in the inspectors. Just before they decided to attack, or actually just before they made the announcement that they were going to attack, Bush* demanded that the UN inspectors stop their search and leave the country. That was one of the firt tip-offs that these clowns were going in no matter what was (or was not) found.

One of the things that has suddenly dropped off the radar is the story about the guy (I forget what country he was from) who went to Perle with an offer from Saddam to do whatever necessary to avoid an attack. This was about two weeks before George's testosterone level went sky high he announced the 48-hour deadline for Saddam to step down. (He didn't stick to the 48-hour deadline though, because they had 'reliable' evidence that Saddam & Sons were going to be in a meeting at some restaurant, if I recall correctly).

My point being that this bunch of idiots contradict themselves constantly. And what's worse, the rest of the world knows the whole story, it's not like anyone is going to ever believe their new version of events. So they can appoint anyone they want to whatever panel they want, the truth is out there, too many people know it, and there isn't a damn thing they can do about it.

Blix doubts on Iraq intelligence

Former UN chief weapons inspector Hans Blix has said Britain and the US dramatised intelligence information to bolster the argument for the Iraq war.
He told the BBC those who drafted the UK's Iraqi arms dossier acted like salesmen trying to "exaggerate the importance" of their wares.
He told Breakfast with Frost he did not think Tony Blair acted in "bad faith".
But he said citizens in the West expected "a bit more sincerity" from their leaders and politicians . . . .
He also blamed "spin" which both governments put on the intelligence for the mistake.

Contrast this with the Frat Boy's self-serving comments on MTP.
