Fake pollsters' scare tactics target Obama
Source: Guardian Newspaper

Barack Obama's campaign for the White House is receiving increasing complaints about scam pollsters involved in dirty tricks operations to discredit the Democratic candidate.
Victims claim the fake pollsters work insinuations into their questions, designed to damage Obama. Those targeted in swing states such as Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania include Jews, Christian evangelicals, Catholics and Latinos.
One of those to protest, Debbie Minden, who lives in a predominantly Jewish neighbourhood, Squirrel Hill, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, told the Guardian that the pollster had begun by asking her the usual questions about her background and who she would vote for.
But the pollster went on to ask Minden, who is Jewish, how she would vote if she knew that Obama was supported by Hamas, the Palestinian militant group that runs Gaza and was responsible for most of the suicide bombings against Israel. "It is scare tactics. It is terribly underhand," she said.

The Republicans are becoming desperate and are resorting to scaring individual voters. The Neocons do not recognize any morals, or ethics and all that matters to them is the retention of power. They consider elections war and will behave like it. Everything goes as far as they are concerned. They will stop at nothing to win. It is only when they fail to rig the voting machines enough that the Dems win despite the rigging. The FBI should look into the Neocon actions and bring some of them up on charges to discourage others from doing the same things. Only one problem......Neocons are above the Law.

1. Fear fear fear....
... is all they have left.

Why not ask these pollsters a few questions of your own when they come knocking?

2. It's good to hear that this is getting back to the Obama camp
Hope that they (along with the DNC and the local Dems) follow up and smack these push-pollers down.

3. doesn't surprise me.
Several of my friends have been living in Squirrel Hill for a long time.

There's no way this thug-ism would work there, or in any other Pittsburgh neighborhood.

McCain's ship is sinking, fast.

...except that fewer will be willing to fall for their fraud and lies this time around. The trauma of what it got us the last two elections has settled in.

24. No, you and I know that it would be more likely to somehow.........
......include a "white woman". And at this point in the McCain campaign it wouldn't fucking surprise me. I can see the "headline" now: When working as a community organizer in ____, Obama "dated" Ms Hannity (with picture naturally) who became pregnant and had an abortion" Ya think that would be a winner for McCain?:sarcasm:

6. Yep. Bushies are getting more above the law every day.
For the Inner Court of Bushler, they already have 100% lawlessness.

Sometimes the Abramoffs and Neys still occasionally go to jail, though one day even the Abramoffs and Ney will walk, too, no matter how much evidence is laying around in the open.

Obama twice sponsored bills to make shit like this ILLEGAL.

Of all the bills he sponsored in the first couple years of his Senate term, is is the ONLY one that haven't made it out of committee.

Democratically-controlled committees, for the last two years. And, still it languishes.

Make of it what you will, I just laid out the facts here.

7. Of course the McCain campaign is doing this because this is what was ....
.... done to McCain in S. Carolina by Rove in 2000. McCain has hired
the exact same person who under Rove's guidence had people "push
poll" S. Carolina residents w/ such clever questions such as, "Would
you vote for John McCain if you knew he had a black child that was
born outside of marriage?"

The man who used to woek for Rove and now works for McCain
is Steve Schimdt.

9. McCain - of all people - should be sensitive to push polling
If you remember, back in 2000 (when McCain could still claim status as a maverick), Rove dispatched the GOP slime machine to engage in a particularly nasty push poll targeting the McCain's daughter. He even remarked in an interview that there must be a "special place in hell" for those involved.

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080128/banks

Obama should call on McCain to immediately denounce these actions, open an internal investigation to determine if anyone connected with his campaign is responsible and, if so, fire those that are guilty. This is exactly what McCain asked Bush to do during a joint appearance in SC in 2000. W wouldn't even look at him.

21. McCain is sensitive to push-polling when he's the target
Push-polls are just fine with him as long as they're aimed at somebody else. I believe the clinical term for this is "sociopathy."

28. "Obama should call on McCain to immediately denounce these actions"
mccain would just protest that these were all facts, and that he was in the right. That was his response when asked about his deceitful ads on Obama. "These are fact, these are facts!" mccain has no scruples at all. He only cares about what is important to him, and power is the thing he seeks.

14. I would ask them for their credentials - and how they are paid and where I might read the results
of their poll.

If they couldn't hand me a card or a flyer and refused to say how they are paid or for whom they volunteer and where the results are posted., I wouldn't answer them.

However, if they did hand me something or say they work for xxx, I wouldn't know how to evaluate it.

If they were legitimatem do they have to follow any rules?

An added twist is whether that data obtained is entered in the big (what I call) Poindexter database where are all records are kept from health to (possibly) the movies we rent.

They better not turn their flase poll question on me. They will hear my voice ringing in their ears even when they are a block away.

19. Threatening killing of a politician or violent physical harm on radio and TV
used to be against the law, as best I can recall. Nowadays hate radio and hate TV with the likes of Limbaugh, Beck, Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity, Kristol, Savage, et al make these threats with no recrimination.

They are the evil slimy specimens of our species, and the best I can do is wish them bad karma, since the law will do nothing about it.

23. That's a huge reason that polls have become so............
..........unpredictable. I think (at least the people on sites like this one) most people don't trust the polls anymore. Not too many years back, you could trust the polls for the most part. Now, they are just propaganda used by either campaign.
