Black turnout high in early voting (Georgia)
Source: Atlantic Journal Constitution

A disproportionate number of Georgia’s 194,138 early voters are African-American, in what could be an encouraging sign for Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

As of Wednesday, about 39 percent of those voters — 74,961 — are African-Americans, Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel’s office said.

African-Americans make up 29 percent of registered voters in the state, according to Oct.1 figures. They cast 25 percent of the total votes cast in the presidential election four years ago.

The secretary of state tracks racial breakdown in order to ensure compliance with the federal Voting Rights Act.

4. It appears Obama is closer then previous Dems of Kerry and Gore
Early voting here in Arizona is favoring Dem as well, more registered Dems here requesting early ballots then Republicans.

5. Wouldn't that be a bitch if McCain lost Az? I am now beginning.......
.....to feel more confident that he will win big. I felt that (by winning big is just not him winning a majority of states, but his 'coattails" carrying in a bunch of Dems with him) early on and then the Palin thing hit.

3. Same here.
I was one of the few white folks in line last Friday when I voted. It was heartening to see so many people (of any race) voting early & enthusiastically.

6. Obama has never had a chance of wining Georgia, and any rational person knows this.

But If he forced McNuts to spend money there that's a good thing.

9. If you read the article on post 4
It appears that Obama is atleast close to winning Georgia then Kerry or Gore. I'm interested in voting this election, I bet there's a couple of shockers.
