Turkish warplanes hit Kurdish targets in Iraq

ANKARA, Iraq (AP) - Turkey's military says its warplanes have successfully attacked 16 Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq.
Brig. Gen. Metin Gurak, spokesman for the military, says the targets on Qandil mountain were bombed Thursday night. Gurak tells a news conference Friday that the military has taken the utmost care to spare civilians from any harm.
But Kurdish rebel spokesman Ahmed Deniz says the air raid damaged a school and wounded three people.
