president Bush* to attend Daytona 500
http://www.thatsracin.com/mld/thatsracin/7894955.htm

President Bush will attend the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15, the White
House announced Friday.

It will be his 19th visit as president to the state that proved pivotal in his 2000 race against Democrat Al Gore. His brother, Jeb Bush, is governor of the state.

(snip)

President Bush's visit this year will create heightened security for more than 125,000 fans attending the Daytona 500. It will also take on considerable political overtones during an election year. The term "NASCAR dads" has been used to describe a voting bloc that could prove important to Bush's re-election (sic) efforts in 2004.

29. Bush needs support from voters with a high school education or less
The Associated Press February 7, 2004

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The political season revving up, President Bush will attend the Daytona 500 Feb. 15 in Florida, his 19th trip to the state that decided the 2000 presidential race.

He has a slight edge among white voters but needs to strengthen support among his core white conservative voters.

Bush also needs to lure more support from voters with a high school education or less, who currently are more inclined to vote against him, according to an AP-Ipsos poll.

MY COMMENT---Its the Core WALMART VOTERS he needs

ESPECIALLY the one's WORKING at Wal-Mart

I'm 30 minutes north of Daytona. Maybe a trip to Jacksonville is in order. It's a sickening feeling knowing that cretin will be in my hometown.

11. On the contrary
Imagine harassing all of those drunken NASCAR fans showing up the way they have every year, just because some Texas jackass has so screwed the country that the cops will have to go through every beer cooler and confiscate all the gas from the Coleman grills to protect him from "terriers."

There's a point at which increased security starts to piss people off. The type of guy who watches cars go around and around in hopes of seeing a wreck has a pretty short fuse.

5. I truly pity the Secret Service
Before they had to dress up and play "pretend" soldiers along with the "pretend" President. What now? Will the secret service have to work in the pit crews? Or maybe they're taking driving lessons right now! They'll be in the cars that crash during the first lap.....

opposite coast and a few hours further south now. Man, Daytona is usaully bad enough as it is during race week. There ya go George, piss off some more of your redneck base by making it even harder to get around Daytona. Where's JMach1, Madfloridian, Trumad and the rest of the Florida gang, we well be over to pick you up Crewleader. Sounds like a Florida DU party brewing at northofdenali,s moms house!

12. Well that's just great.
First off, as a race fan, I don't like restrictor plate races, which is what the Daytona 500 is. Now the idiot son is going to be there.

It looks like the first NASCAR race I watch on TV is at Rockingham.

30. No its NECK CAR

Redneck Rampage

You think Quake is mindless entertainment? Instantly reduce your IQ as this first-person shooter game puts you smack-dab in the fictional town of Hickston, Arkansas. Armed with up to ten weapons (including crowbars, dynamite, double-barreled shotguns, ripsaw blades, and an alien arm gun, blast your way through country bars, trailer parks, and chicken processing plants in search of your pig, who's been abducted by aliens. But you're not going to get far without fuel (pork rinds and whiskey) for fending off the good old boys brandishing sawed-off shotguns.

Wondering how far away from the race will the actual NASCAR fans be penned in and will Georgie's selected group of Neocon's and Young Republicans fans be able to go from black-suits and red ties to levi's, ball caps, and racing car t-shirts ......????? How long will Georgie actually remain at this event....will it be wave the flag and then off to his next campaign bag-pickup?

37. what's hilarious about this
is that back in his prep school and yale days, you got to think of how often he and his frat buds would have made fun of nascar types. to those east coast elitist types, hanging out with a real southerner is right up there with having your name in the paper for embezzling from your wall street firm.

can you imagine bar' and poppy, pretending they're pleased as they watch jr. on tv hobnobbing with hoi polloi?
