Poll: Obama tops McCain as football-watching buddy
Source: AP via Yahoo

WASHINGTON (AP) — People would rather watch a football game with Barack Obama than with John McCain
...
There was also a danger sign for McCain: About three in 10 voters are still undecided or say they may switch candidates. That group leans narrowly toward Obama as their football companion.

Bush = beer
Obama = stories
McCain = repeating the lineup for the Packers, or Steelers, or "what town am I in again?"

Or does that make it sad? I'm not sure.

20. HEY! So would I!
Ole Y.A. is one of the heroes of my youth. Loved the way his bald head glimmered when his helmet got knocked off.
But, of course I'd rather watch that (or today's equivalent) with Obama.

9. Obama is the Gen X Clinton
Smart and charismatic enough to be mainstream, which says a lot for a guy with such a funny sounding name.
I see him being a lot like Bubba was for the baby boomers, where people who disagreed with him on politics still liked him on a personal basis.

I respect Gore and Kerry, but they fall into the wet blanket category.

The Baby Boom kids were born through 1964. Obama was born in 1961.

likable and "one of us" then McSame and like it or not when Americans are undecided and uncertain, they seem to tend to vote for someone likable and "one of us".

Other then cheating, lying and pure Kool-Aid sucking stupidity IMO this is partly why Bush is now President. Back when Bush was first running, even while many of us saw through the charade and spin, didn't many of us also hear comments from some people that he was the kind of guy you'd like to "share a beer with", "have as a neighbor", "have over to a BBQ", etc. :puke:

It's sort of an odd study but interesting from a psych POV.

When Joe's kids were hurt in the auto accident Mr. Rooney sent the Steelers to visit them in the hospital and gave them autograped footballs.:thumbsup:

27. Rooney was amazing
Not only have the Steelers consistently been one of the best teams in the league since the merger; they're run by a family of real humanitarians.

I hope the Rooneys continue to hold a stake in the team, however events play out.

14. This is good news. . .
So many Americans are too fucking stupid to vote based on facts and issues. Remember GWB in 2000? He was the one Americans could imagine "having a beer with." I don't care why people vote for Barack just as long as they DO it!!!

16. This poll shows
...the sad state of our society where personality is chosen over qualification; however, in this case it is a good thing because Obama actually has the qualification AND the personality to go with it.

32. Rosey admitted in the segment that he's been a Republican his
whole life. I was shocked, since I was well aware that he loved Bobby and was with him when he died. He stated that this was the first time since then that he felt this strongly about a candidate. He said he cried after Barack's speech @ Invesco Field.
