Brad Pitt donates money to support gay marriage
Source: AP

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Brad Pitt has donated $100,000 to fight California's November ballot initiative that would overturn the state Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage.

It's the first time voters will be asked to ban same-sex marriage in a state where gay couples already have won the right to wed. Same-sex marriage is legal in Massachusetts and California.

"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," Pitt said Wednesday.

Trevor Neilson, Pitt's political and philanthropic adviser, told The Associated Press that Pitt was surprised that his colleagues in the entertainment industry had not donated more money to support the battle against Proposition 8.

3. She probably figures she can get more publicity that way....
She can get both the McCain and Obama supporters riled up and focusing on her greatness.

14. I think Angelina talks that way because she wants to remain neutral
Her focus with AIDs and Refugees should not be a democrat or republican issue. If she alienates one party too much and that party wins then she has little chance of getting help from that government for the next 4 years.

I secretly suspect she's an Obama supporter but just keeps that air of neutrality. I see the same thing that Bono of US does - he doesn't care about party, he cares about people.

7. Awesome! The pro-equality people are still way behind the chrisTo-Fascists in fundraising though.

Proposition 8, an initiative on the November ballot seeks to take away the fundamental freedom to marry from same-sex couples.

With your help, we will defeat this divisive measure. Make a donation to NO on 8 – Equality California today (see form below) or give a wedding registry gift in the name of a couple you know. If you prefer to make a donation by mail, complete the donation form and mail it to:

9. Don't look not but your psycho father-in-law is supporting the opposition
Maybe it's time to let his fence-sitting daughter drop the bomb on why they don't speak at all?

15. Angelina doesn't even talk to her own father
and as I posted above, I think Joile just keeps her mouth shut because she's more about the global cause and not the US government. I highly doubt she'll vote for anyone but Obama but she probably won't be active in the campaign.
