Cox will recommend 'evolution' stay in curriculum
State Schools Superintendent Kathy Cox announced Thursday she will recommend that the word evolution be retained in Georgia's proposed curriculum for middle and high school science.

"I made the decision to remove the word evolution from the draft of the proposed biology curriculum in an effort to avoid controversy that would prevent people from reading the substance of the document itself," Cox said in a statement. "Instead, a greater controversy ensued."

1. Good. She apologised. And there's a lesson:
She did it to avoid controversy. So if you want real science taught, you need to make a noise to overcome the fundamentalists!

4. I think the real lesson is
The vocal few can make a stink for a while. Try and cater to the radical minority, and the majority will rise. Another words, better check your sources, then make a decision.

to her head being on the block for the BS she stirred up when she approached the issue unconstitutionally. She's a sycophantic moron.

5. Thanks, ya stupid cow!!!
Glad it was a principled change of heart based on your understanding of science and not the moral equivalent of stepping suddenly backwards after stamping out the flaming bag of shit somebody left on your front porch - NOT!

9. What about the issue of Fairies on pinheads?
I don't think this issue is ever addressed in math or science class. Exactly how many fairies can dance upon the head of a pin? Why doesn't Superintendent Cox make a statement about this? I think she is just trying to dodge the issue.
