WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon has proposed the sale of an advanced U.S. missile defense system valued at up to $7 billion to the United Arab Emirates, the Pentagon said in a statement released on Wednesday.

The so-called Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, which is built by Lockheed Martin Corp with a system radar from Raytheon Co, could be used for possible defense against Iran.

4. This is where I have to disagree.

This missile defense system is awesome. It does work, and is getting better. I'm awed by what the U.S. military has been able to accomplish in the field of missile defenses. Have you seen the recent upgrades to PAC-3 and the SM-3 system. Those are both incredibly capable systems. But I do have to question why the little rat Chimperor is giving this sytem wholesale to the UAE. WTF? Could it be yet another precursor for another illegal war in the region?
