Noise Disrupts Bush Prayer Breakfast

WASHINGTON -- It sounded like a burst of machine-gun fire as President Bush was speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday but the noise apparently was produced by sound equipment in the room.

The sound startled some listeners in the cavernous ballroom of the Washington Hilton Hotel and Bush paused for a second in his speech. But then he went on without mentioning the sound. Several thousand people attended the annual prayer meeting.

"Seeing great need, our servicemen and women have rebuilt hospitals, repaired schools ... ," he said. At that point, there was a sound similar to automatic gunfire. After a second's hesitation, Bush continued, "and organized the donation of books and clothing and toys for Iraqi children."

The Hilton is the same hotel where former President Reagan was shot in 1981 as he walked toward his limousine after a speech.

It's too bad that it interrupted Juniors prayers. I am guessing that he was praying that Cheney doesn't drop dead before the next election or that his mommy Barbara doesn't smother him in order to correct a mistake that she made oh so many years ago, (Barbara, none of us will blame you, just hold the pillow on his face till the legs stop kicking, if you offer to give him candy or tell him it's a game he probably won't struggle)

10. Something was off! I heard the shots on repeat broadcast

Was in my office this afternoon listening to the replay going in the other room when I heard it. Bush was speaking and then there was the sound of a machine gun or automatic rapid fire from a gun at least 8+ rounds fired. Was it part of the speech or did something happen? Seemed almost to be part of broadcast. VVVERRY Wierd!
