Biden Says Palin Will Eventually Have To Defend Record
Source: RTT News

(RTTNews) - Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden on Sunday praised his Republican rival Sarah Palin as a politician, but suggested that people will ultimately vote based on positions.

He also defended the stance Democratic candidate Barack Obama has taken on the conflict in Iraq, saying that Republican nominee John McCain has no plan for what to do now.

Appearing on NBC's "Meet The Press," the Delaware senator called his Republican counter part, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a "smart, tough politician," but said she would eventually have to come on talk shows and appear in debates to defend her record.

17. So... she is in hiding?
What is she afraid of? First time I've seen a pitbull run away from a fight.

Are yall telling me she isn't even a pitbull? But she said she was. Are yall saying she lied to us? Ya mean she's just another damned lying politician?

Ms. Palin.... come out, come out, from wherever you are. You are a celebrity now, and its your turn to shine. Your public wants you. Don't hide from us, please! We want you, front and center.

5. the moment he does
there are a lot of women who will be upset. Not all of them, not even most of them, but possibly enough to skew the election.

There is a high sensitivity here IMO particularly when some, again, a minority but some Democratic women think Obama was sexist towards Hillary.

Biden also has a reputation for sexism, deserved or not.

14. But Princess Barbie is not a feminist.
Most definitely not.

Most women who would really want a woman in the WH are at least feminists, and Barbie's positions on the issues are guaranteed to send any feminist run screaming! Right wing women if anything don't think a woman should be in the WH either, and they'll put up with this only feeling that there's some good strong man in the background, maybe just to get their fundie in.

I don't see that her being female helps the repukes at all. McDumb should have picked a fundie right wing male nut - that would have rallied that "base" even better. Surely some of that crowd have problems with a female taking the job, especially with small children. Of course they are hypocrites, but according to their philosophy, Barbie should be home with the kids.

12. My take is that he is keeping the bar raised high for her, instead of lowering expectations.
It also makes her trash-talk that the Democratic candidates are ripping into her because she's a woman (or hockey mom, or whatever) much more visible as just that -- trash-talk and lies.

6. My come to Jesus Moment
I thought of this yesterday. We need to swing back to the issues and now. Spending all of our time attacking Gov. Palin is not helping. I am very guilty of this too. We need to make the issues the biggest thing to push her into the press before she is "ready". Asking everyone we know "where does she stand on the issues of economy, the housing crisis, health care, and energy?"

10. she's kind of in hiding and apparently getting the quick study on issues
so that she can look prepared to answer questions from reporters. We'll all be laughing when she shows her shallowness. She's a redneck dressed up in disguise.

Humpty Dumpty, "my record says what I choose it to say."

16. She'll just have memorized answers.
In response to any question or follow-up question, Gov. Palin will just respond with a memorized answer. There is no way she can do anything else and remain credible. She will never be credible to DUers with her memorized answers and I hope the press does not let her get away with it. I expect she will do the same in the debate with Biden and then call him a bully if he pushes for a more immediate and unrehearsed answer. The campaign must get out what positions this woman really holds and that she is further to the right of Bush and more willing than even him to follow the line of whoever is preparing her for office.

20. Her record is why so many Democrats like her in Alaska
Maybe someone can name something she has done as Governor that would cause people to dislike her? I can't think of anything...
