Media Firm Does Ads for Bush AND Medicare

By MARK SHERMAN, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - A media firm working for President Bush (news - web sites)'s re-election campaign has a share of the administration's publicly funded $12.6 million advertising effort touting the new Medicare law.

National Media Inc. of Alexandria, Va., is purchasing $9.5 million worth of television advertising for a 30-second commercial that the administration intends to educate older Americans about changes in Medicare such as the new prescription drug benefit, executives involved in the advertising campaign said Wednesday.

Critics of the new law contended the firm's involvement is evidence that the administration is mounting a political rather than educational campaign for the new law.

"There are hundreds of media buyers out there and they get the contract," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill.

4. The corruption of this administration knows no bounds
My only hope is that the next attorney general won't be shy about putting former Bush administration officials on trial- AND seeking the MAXIMUM penalty, with no plea bargains.

7. I posted about this
yesterday and it was sadly ignored. This really proves media bias if the networks decide to air this blatant propaganda, especially in light of their refusal to show the MoveOn ads as "too political".

8. Why do we need to spend ANY money to promote this?
Isn't that just blatant campaigning? I can't stand my tax dollars being wasted simply to point out "look what we've done for you lately" type garbage. That's enough money to provide another 5,000 older people the $2,800 they'll need to cover the gap this legislation created.

CBS,

MoveOn ads use money to buy air time. It’s not your concern to play GOD and choose which issue CBS supports. Spineless Hippocrates!

11. That kind of corruption and conflict of interest is no longer illegal
proved the Imperial Family or their friends is doing it.

Grotesque double-standards and selective enforcement of laws based on political affiliation (Martha Stewart, meet Ken Lay...Ken, this is Martha) are hallmarks of a Totalitarian nation.

While we haven;t yet fully transformed into what the Imperial Busheviks want, we certainly cannot claim with a straight face that we belong to the Free World anymore.
