'Taliban will never cooperate with Afghan govt’
The Taliban will never cooperate with the US-backed government in Afghanistan even if their leader is given the presidency, a man claiming to represent the Taliban said on Wednesday.

"The Taliban will never join the current government on any condition, even if we were given every government position," the man, who calls himself Muhammad Saiful Adel, said by telephone from southeastern Afghanistan. "We will not cooperate with the government as long as there is a single foreign soldier in Afghanistan. We want them gone." He added: "Even if Mullah Omar is given the presidency, we will never cooperate with the Jews and the Christians."

Earlier on Wednesday, the US military spokesman Lt-Col Bryan Hilferty said there were moderates among the Taliban with whom the US would be prepared to cooperate. There are many members of the Taliban, whom we invite to join the peace process," Hilferty told a press conference in Kabul.

1. That doesn't bode well for future stability and harmony in Afghanistan.
Looks like the spring offensive will be a go.

4. Hmpf, go figure, they want to be free of "elitist capitalists",...
,...who control the CIA who trained the Taliban how to be free from the "elitist capitalists" of a so-called communist country. Now, they demand liberty from the "elitist capitalists" of a so-called democratic country. Go figure *LOL*.

5. interesting,if i remember right
the klan decided the taliban were to dam dumb to deal with over the pipeline line deal. they decided the tali had to go and replace them with someone they could deal with. how many empires tried to deal with these people only to fail? anyone who has read history should know that there is no way you are ever "get over on" these people. but then you have to realize the education level of our president...
