Another Controversy for Sarah Palin - (police chief firing)
Source: ABC online - By BRIAN ROSS and JOSEPH RHEE

Gov. Sarah Palin is already facing ethical questions over her firing of the Alaska public safety commissioner, and now she faces questions over the firing of a longtime local police chief.
...
The former police chief, Irl Stambaugh says he was fired because he stepped on the toes of Palin's campaign contributors, including bar owners and the National Rifle Association.
...
the chief tried to move up the closing hours of local bars from 5 a.m. to two a.m. after a spurt of drunk driving accidents and arrests.
...
Stambaugh also alleged that his stand on restricting concealed weapons upset the NRA.
...

She may not have any foreign policy experience, or much political experience for that matter, but she sure has the corruption and abuse of power part down!

4. unless the laws have changed....when i lived outside of Fairbanks, the bars were open...
almost all day...there was a Health Department rule about having to close for at least ONE HOUR per day 'for cleaning, etc.'....

some of the bars would close for one hour or so, about an hour apart, so essentially you could ALWAYS find an open bar, no matter the time of day...

in the 'always daylight' of the summer...it was great...

in the 'always dark and frigid' fall, winter, and spring...it was even better...

3. It's so nice to see journalists actually doing their job
I'm surprised so many of them remembered how to do it.

I'm sorry that it required the baby Trig rumor to get them off of their lazy, asses, but up and running, they are. And Gov. Palin will soon be heading back to Alaska. I hope they remember what this journalism thingy is when the next VP pick comes rolling off the assembly line.

If the Manchurian candidate somehow manages to get himself anointed, Palin would fit right in as the Attorney General. Given the fact that she is not a lawyer, she is equally qualified for both the AG job as the VP position.

On the other hand, she could stay in until after the election, at which point she'll resign "for family reasons," and McCain can appoint anyone he wants. (Are you listening, Joe?) Remember Spiro Agnew.

Pleasepleasepleaseplease, God, let us elect Obama. Four more years of Republican misrule, and the US will be a Third World nation.

I mean, can anyone up there give us a count of how many people she's fired since she and Todd (the power behind her) have thrown out of office because she didn't get her way???

Let's start a count:

People on the Oil & Gas Commission
Librarian (whose job was saved by protests)
Police Chief
State Police Chief
Head of Wasilla Engineering (job given to her crony with no experience)

I've heard there's quite a few more...

34. Typical Republican Behavior...
The answer to EVERY event such as this is very simple...

BAN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!

It is NOT just the people...it is the insidious nature of the party which does NOT allow for democratic exchange of ideals, acceptance of governing differences, and fair interaction with people of all races, classes, and dogmas. Indeed, anyone would put this...

SCANDAL WRITTEN TRAILER TRASH....

on the ticket at a VP is indicative of an organization that is UNDOUBTEDLY the most repressive, evil, insidious organization in this planet's history. IT MUST be investigated as we would ANY nefarious organization that involves RICO statutes.

Let's get it on!!!

36. We have enough rope
Now that enough background on Gov Palin is out, the scenario is clear. She is a clone of George W. Bush. The backgrounds are very eerily similar and the Rovian mantle seems to be in play. Wending her way via a "Guns and God" mantra she has been thrust upon the electorate. What needs to be pushed is their similar backgrounds, ideology, and narrow intellect(smart but not thoughtful) that does not rectify mistakes. She is a wolf in sheep's clothing. She has left a trail of intimidated players in her rise to her present position. Her People Magazine image belies her underlying ruthlessness with a reactionary agenda that will bring us back to the Stone Age. The push to defeat her is to reveal her as a female Bush twin. This is where the gloves should be taken off.

A Summary: No advanced degrees.
NRA ideologue and huntress
Showboating Mayor with little real accomplishments
Governor of a large amount of dirt(Texas is number 2) with little diversity
Demands absolute loyalty from her office holders even if her ideas are bit dangerous or nutty
A religious zealot whose direction comes from "a higher power."
Has no qualms embellishing or making up stuff

Take it from someone who grew up in one.

For Sarah, however, small town is about all she knows and she was a mayor of one until 2002.

I for one haven't seen a small town mayor that I would want to elevate to governor, let alone veep or, God forbid, president.
