6. This is actually smart of Mittens
After all, with both Palin and Biden's sons going to Iraq to serve in the military and national guard, Romney doesn't want to be too high profile to protect his FIVE ADULT SONS, all of whom are too chicken to serve in the military.

7. I love when people announce that they won't accept stuff that
they've never been offered in the first place. Do they think that'll prompt offers?

I, for example, announce that I will not accept any offer to go skinny dipping with Salma Hayek.

9. Romney Gets Ready To Run If McCain Fails
Source: The Huffington Post

While Romney wished McCain and Palin well, his friends and advisers say if they fail in the general election, Romney is primed _ even anxious _ to mount a second bid for the White House.

Now, Romney can again concentrate on the presidency, even as he buffs a veneer of support for the McCain-Palin ticket with his speech to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday.

Indeed, Romney's stumping for McCain in recent months has also served to maintain his visibility and future political viability.

Should McCain fail, it's no stretch to see Romney hitting the trail again on Nov. 5 in pursuit of the job he wanted from the start.

14. "Republican Party In Disarray."

Seems to be an undeniable fact, by now.

They'll try desperately to spin their convention as a show of unity.

But the sheer number of Republicans who've chosen to stay away, the banishment of Dubya and Dick, the poorly-concealed misgivings about McCain's VP pick...

It's a mess over there, folks. :wow:

15. I fully expect the media to spend endless hours speculating whether his "heart is in" campaigning.
Or, whether he has some secret plot to subvert the McCain candidacy so that he can run n 4 years.

18. Bad choice.
Vultures are useful, successful at the service they provide(unlike Mittens and Mass) and have, in their own way, a certain integrity.

19. Isn't it ironic?
All the media hype about disunity among us Dems ... and we're more united now than ever.

All the media hype about Palin 'unifying' the Repug message ... and they're ready to eat their own.

Time for a new acronym: LMMA (Liberal media my ass)

20. Looks like he's just taken himself out of the running...
in the event Palin drops out. If so, looks like we're stuck with Pawlenty after all.

For the next eight weeks, anyway...

23. So great
To see the Republican party in it's confused state. I like the term "Repoops" as opposed to "Repukes".

Hey is anyone else reminded of "A Portrait of Dorian Gray" when they look at McCain?
