He doesn’t bother to attend secret CIA briefings of his fellow senators because he seldom learns anything he hasn’t read in the newspapers, but Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is convinced the U.S. will track down the elusive mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks before November.

“Obviously, he’ll be caught between now and the election,” Grassley said Monday when asked if he’s disappointed that Osama bin Laden hasn’t been killed or captured.

“I think they’re on his trail now in a way they haven’t been all year,” Grassley said. “It will happen because we will be able to divert more resources .”

Grassley, who’s an overwhelming favorite to win a fifth term in November, declined to say why he’s so confident that bin Laden will be brought to justice. But it certainly didn’t come from one of those secret CIA briefings.

Was it Grassley who "predicted" Saddam's capture a week or two before it was announced?

6. I wonder... could Michael Moore pull this one off?

It has to be someone with a microphone, on national TV; Moore's usually good for this kind of thing, but it could be anyone with credibility. All the celeb has to do is repeat what we know about Reagan's dirty dealing, say he expects we're getting set up for the same crap this year.

It could be an opening for others to come forward, especially any CIA who have a score to settle with dubya.

We Americans may be gullible and dense, but we don't like being lied to or robbed. If the OBL capture raises the hackles of a suspicious and traumatized public, there's a chance we can beat this thing.

Allowing a serious terrorist attack to claim the lives of 3000 Americans, to further a fascist agenda of civil liberties crackdowns and imperialism?

Lying about the threats posed by an impoverished nation on the other side of the planet as justification for a bloody invasion?

Doling out tasks in the occupation of said nation by way of no-bid contracts to political and financial allies?

If it were a grave crime for the sun to rise tomorrow, I would still put my money on "obvious" -- it's the nature of things.

10. I'm bookmarking articles about this and saving the web files offline

So I can send out a mass "IT'S A FRAUD!" e-mail to everyone I know when the October Surprise does happen. I've also been making a point of this whenever the subject of * comes up.

Everyone should do this.

I've got the German news article from a couple weeks ago saying Bin Laden has already been caught, and a few others as well. Sorry, I'd post links but they're on my other comp.

E-mail article text and link to your own Lycos, Yahoo, whatever inbox. Safer than trusting Windows or your hard drive not to crash and it will be right there when you need it. I also keep multiple backups of everything.
